Positive: The property is relatively modern, and part of a small quiet development of other houses. It is located on the edge of the development on a slope overlooking a steep valley with a forested ridge beyond. The nearest village/town is Folelli (about 5 minutes drive away) which has most services including a large E.Leclerc. The nearest beach (which is pretty good) is 10 minutes, and Bastia airport is 30 mins (although although more time as the coast road can get jammed). The topography means that the access into the private parking area is down a steep slope, turning a car involves getting close to the edge of the slope, and there are steep steps up to the front door. This was not a problem for us as mobile adults but may be an issue for others. There is a small private outside area with sun loungers, sofas, chairs and dining table. This area also has a small (approximately 3m x 3m) swimming pool which is big enough to cool off in on a hot day. There is another holiday unit on the floor above but the layout and construction means that there is minimal noise. Inside, there is a large open plan L shaped kitchen, living and dining area, with a very large and well equipped kitchen, very large and comfortable sofa, and a dining table with six chairs. There is a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. There are three separate bedrooms, each with double beds. One bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and one bedroom also has bunk beds. There is also a separate bathroom and separate toilet. Generally, everything was very clean and well equipped, and very comfortable. The kitchen was particularly well equipped - we enjoy cooking together as a family and this was the first time we have not had to buy additional utensils etc. Communication with the hosts was very good. They provided a mobile number and responded to texts etc. very quickly. They did their best to fit in with our schedule and were a pleasure to deal with.
Negative: These are some minor points that could be improved to make the accommodation perfect. The most significant thing is the air conditioning. There is a very effective air conditioning unit in the property. However, there is only one and it is located centrally in the property where it cools the living area. The shape and layout of the rooms means that cooler air does not circulate easily into the bedrooms. This meant two of the bedrooms were hotter than was comfortable and one (facing south) was particularly hot (this bedroom was the only one with a fan which suggests that others may have found this an issue). As with most people, we are less sensitive to higher temperatures in living areas and more sensitive when trying to sleep. We were there during a period of high temperatures (35C+) so this may not be an issue at other times. The dining table chairs were an attractive design but the seats had sagged to become uncomfortable. This was easily solved by using the cushions from the sofa.
Summary: Overall, a very pleasant and comfortable place to stay in a quiet and attractive location.
