3 Bedroom Villa in Cotignac

This is a lovely, well-equipped house in a tranquil spot, two kilometers from the picture perfect village of Cotignac. This Provencal villa is comfortably and tastefully furnished throughout. The three quarter acre ( 3000m2 ) of fully-enclosed matures gardens are private and not overlooked. The south-facing pool measures 8 x 3 meters and is surrounded by an abundance of garden furniture to enjoy all aspects of sun and shade. In the garden we also have a traditional boules court and two sets of boules.
There is a covered terrace set up for alfresco dining and relaxing and a wisteria covered terrace for dappled shade as well. A gas fired BBQ is provided for summertime meals.
In the house, the large living / dining room has two sets of french doors which open out to the terrace and pool area. The master suite on the ground floor is en suite with bath and separate shower and has french doors which open out onto the pool area. On the first floor are two further double bedrooms (one has twin singles which can be separate or can form a double) sharing a bathroom with shower. One of these bedrooms has french doors which open onto a juliet balcony overlooking the pool and garden. All bedrooms have a double chest of drawers and a mirrored built in wardrobe.
On the ground floor is a Provencal style kitchen which is well equipped with all you would expect and maybe more - such as a bean to cup coffee maker (filter coffee maker available). There is a utility room with washing machine and dryer and American fridge freezer to dispense ice and chilled water. The Cotignac area has hard water so there is a water softener system. Also on this floor is a guest toilet as well as a study with desk and a bookcase. In the desk drawer are plenty of adapters if you have UK plugs.
There is free wifi, with a decent debit, throughout the house which also extends to some of the patio area. There is a TV in the lounge with the basic 5 UK channels (BBC 1 and 2, ITV, 4 and 5) as well as French television. In addition, there is a DVD player with various DVDs, a CD player and cds, plenty of books and some games including scrabble and cards. The dining tables both inside and out seat 8. All windows are double glazed but we also have traditional wooden shutters. We hope you will have fabulous holiday in this lovely home in Provence.

Summary: A lovely stay, wonderful location, beautiful countryside. The house is very practical, with everything to hand, the pool is perfect and Cotignac is a delight. Nat (the manager) and husband Jeremy (pool) are charming and helpful. I would give it the highest recommendation.

Summary: This is an amazing place. Perfectly located just outside the city center, with everything you need. The villa offers everything you could wish for. Lush garden, great pool area - and additional places filled with shade, to be used when the sun is at it’s highest. Everything at the Villa is of highest quality. In addition to that the host and acommodation is close to perfect. Nearby town of cotignac is magical, the ambience is great and filled with charm. easy parking, lots of restaurants and great places to explore. We will be back!

Summary: Very highly recommended. I had wondered when I booked it why there weren't more reviews but now think people may be trying to keep this property a secret ! We stayed as a family with 3 teenagers in August and it ticked all the right boxes for us. All 5 of us really liked it. The property is comfortable, well furnished and very light and spacious inside and out. Excellent WiFi also. The pool and gardens were very relaxing with lots of different seating areas to take advantage of sun and shade. Nearby Cotignac had easy parking, lots of restaurants and interesting areas to explore. It was also appreciated that we were given a warm welcome by Jennifer on arrival, shown around the property and given recommendations of places to visit. Many thanks . Hoping to return.

Summary: When we booked this property, we thought it looked nice, but none of the pictures truly prepared us for what awaited. This has to be one of the most wonderful, spacious, and comfortable properties we have ever stayed in abroad, and we have stayed in a fair few! The house itself is so roomy, and your every need is catered for, from the American-style fridge, with iced water on tap, to the coffee maker. With two teenagers, we particularly valued there being double beds in each of the rooms, as well as separate showers/bathrooms. Everybody had plenty of space to relax in, and, with nine different seating areas to choose from, there was something for everyone. Fans in each of the rooms were a huge bonus as well. The pool and gardens were just wonderful. We hadn't realised just how much land surrounded the property. The whole place felt truly luxurious. The town of Cotignac was lovely. Unfortunately you can't really walk into town from the property, which was a real shame, but parking was easy (except on market day), and so we really didn't mind. There are plenty of lovely restaurants to choose from (booking HIGHLY recommended to avoid disappointment), but we particularly enjoyed eating crepes and drinking coffee at the local cafes in the mornings. It's a lovely town to simply wander around, and the market on a Tuesday morning is a real treat. All in all, this is the most wonderful property, on the outskirts of a lovely town, in the most beautiful part of France. Highly recommended.

Summary: The villa is better in real life than the photos depict with a very well equipped kitchen, great wi-fi, it is all so spacious and clean with high end bed linen, towels etc. The outside area is the real star - such a lovely well tended garden with lots of places to sit, relax and enjoy the peace / listen to the birds singing. Also the pool was great and not overlooked. The house is about 2km from Cotignac village full of restaurants (not one bad meal out - all were fabulous and some great value set menus too) and artists shops and the weekly market on a Tuesday is a MUST visit. Loads of vineyards nearby and an hour to the sea although we enjoyed the house and local villages so much we only went to the sea once and up to the lake and gorges once too. To be recommended for family holidays or a romantic trip for a couple as we were - we will return!
