Summary: If you want to get away, and I mean really get away from all the hustle of daily life and the “crowds” of any touristy place on island, the Hale Makai Cottages are for you. If you care more about proximity to the ocean, hearing the waves as you sleep, and the birds in the morning, taking a dip in the ocean from maybe 200 feet from your bed, this is your place. If you don’t need all the frills of Princeville and instead want to feel like your part of a small beach front neighborhood stay here. I don’t want to share how much we loved staying here because I want it to be more of a secret. But I was so happy I found it and I hope you love it too. We stayed here for 3 nights for our 10 year anniversary and it was a perfect home base to go beach, hike Ha’ ena Park, or enjoy a nice dinner in Hanalei. We can’t wait to go back.

Summary: We loved our stay at the Hale Makai Cottages. The units were spotless and well-stocked. Cassie, the person in charge of housekeeping was wonderful. Susan who manages the place was very responsive to any questions we had. The location is perfect, right on the beach.
