Our spacious apartment is set in a renovated, typical french farmhouse.
Through a private deck you enter the apartment area with fully equipped modern kitchen, a large antique dining table and TV Lounge. A toilet with a sink and a laundry room are also available.
A convenient staircase leads to the first floor, which includes two spacious rooms. Each room has a private bathroom with shower and toilet. In one of the rooms you will find a large french size double bed and on another level with skylight a french size double bed. The other room holds two single beds and on another level with skylight a french size double bed. A smaller bed can be added, a baby cot is available with no charge if needed.
The tranquility, the views of the paddocks and beautiful surroundings, the separate entrance with deck are best ingredients for relaxing holidays. Children can play risk-free on our swing and around the house and bicycles can be rented. A swimming pool is available (shared with the owners).
Our house is located in the countryside, in the beautifully landscaped area "Fronsac" in the northwest of Bordeaux. Hiking trails are directly accessible, many points of interest are easily reached. We are just 30 km from UN World Heritage sites Bordeaux, Saint-Emilion, and fort Blaye.
Set in one of the best wine growing regions the world, wineries in all price ranges, often in picturesque traditional houses or châteaux, will be happy to offer tastings of their production.
Atlantic beaches are accessible by day trip: the Arcachon basin and its oyster fishing tradition, the endless beaches the Medoc Coast (nudist possibility), Royan and the famous Cordouan lighthouse or even the wild "Côte Sauvage" north of Royan.
Bordeaux is easily accessible by car and the P&R and public transport. It is definitely worth a visit for one two days depending if you plan to visit a museum or exhibition.
It has always been your dream to travel with your horse? That is possible with us! for 5 euro / night you have a private 2000 m2 of paddock with water and hay if needed.

Summary: Surrounded by vineyards, this barn conversion is in beautiful surroundings. Libourne, is quite close, and is a lovely town, we went on a Sunday, which is market day, and loved it. We also had a day out in Bordeaux, very enjoyable. Highly recommended, and would definitely go again.

Summary: We had a lovely stay in Vérac! The house is beautifully furnished, with a stunning view over the meadow. It was absolutely fabulous. Downside is that we thought we had rented the whole house for the week, and when we got there, we heard that other guests would be staying there as well for one night during our stay. So apparently the holiday house can be rented as a whole, and as separated rooms (and we had no idea in advance). We didn't have any problems with the other guests (everything was really well separated and isolated), but were quite unpleasantly surprised that this was not communicated any sooner. Vérac is in the middle of nowhere, but we visited a lot in the area (thanks to the recommendations of Mélanie and her husband), and enjoyed the peace and quiet on the farm. We were very happy (and surprised!) to see that we had such a good WIFI-connection! Mélanie and her husband were really welcoming, and yet discrete as well. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much, and would like te come back in the future!
