Positive: Cottage on the Croft is a really lovely property, and is excellently located in the centre of Hungerford whilst being very quiet. Jonathan was very good at responding to email queries beforehand (even though he was in Australia at the time of our stay). It was spotlessly clean; the sofa and bed were very comfortable; and the shower was very good. It was a brilliant place to stay to visit family members in Hungerford.
Negative: Unfortunately when we arrived for our one evening stay in late November the house's thermostat battery was flat, meaning that the house was very cold (10.5 degrees). Once we had bought new batteries from the shop in Hungerford the thermostat started working quickly, but because the house was so cold it took several hours to warm up. The property description on Booking.com erroneously stated that there was a microwave at the property (there is not). There is no cafetiere, teapot, or oven gloves at the property; otherwise it is well stocked.
Summary: A really lovely place to stay in Hungerford.

Positive: Great location near to centre of the town. Very clean and comfortable (especially bed!). Good hanging space in wardrobe. Good parking nearby.
Negative: Description on booking.com says there is a microwave but there isn’t. We needed this for sterilising baby bottles so had to scrabble for find alternative method.
Summary: Great place for a couple of nights in Hungerfood.

Positive: Location is perfect for spending time in the town. We were able to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, canal, market, etc. The cottage is very nice, clean and cozy. The bed was awesome, shower /water pressure was great. Coffee and tea was a nice touch as well. I loved the garden area, very private with beautiful flowers. The washer and dryer are outside in a garden shed so if you need to use the laundry, make sure you request the access info. from the owners as soon as you arrive. Great communication from the owners, and the check in process was a breeze.
Negative: Not a huge deal but note that the bedroom is upstairs and very tight with the awesome king bed so we had to keep our suitcases in the living room. Running up and down the stairs was a lot of exercise :) Would have loved a detailed map to find the cottage. Our GPS tried to take us down a walking lane so I would recommend navigating to the Church Street vs. Church Lane, drive past the Hungerford Club, park in Resident's lot (owner will provide details). You will have a small walk to the gate. We had a hard time narrowing down the spot but we figured it out and it was worth it.
Summary: Wonderful place to stay in Hungerford!

Negative: We have been sent an email stating that we have to pay for additional cleaning as we smoked in the house. WE DID NOT. The bedding in the master bedroom smelled of smoke when we arrived. We stayed in the house for 6-8 hours, did not smoke or cook, and left the house exactly as we found it. Very disappointed to be accused of smoking and being asked to make an additional payment. The house was great (although lots of cobwebs) - this leaves a bad taste.
Summary: Nice house - housekeeping should be more accountable

Positive: Beautifully clean, comfy beds, excellent location near the canal and shops and pubs, great shower, elegantly decorated, well equipped kitchen, pretty garden.
Negative: No cafetière or coffee making thingy, glad I packed my aeropress. My elderly mum felt unsafe in the shower, some kind of sticky shower mat would have helped her to feel more secure. She used a hand towel so she managed but she asked me to make this suggestion.

Positive: Very central to Hungerford, comfy bed and sitting room. Good WiFi. Lots of hot water. Nicely maintained and very clean. Nice to be left tea, coffee, oil, spices and condiments. Fresh flowers were also a nice touch.
Negative: No parking available in residents only spaces, so had to move car from another place after 4 hours during day time. No microwave in kitchen. No freezer section or ice tray in fridge. Milk, juice, butter and cheese in fridge on arrival, all in date but half used … not sure if this was from previous visitors or put there for me to use?
