Positive: Having use of the garden area and pool for the kids was great, after a long drive. Beds nice and comfortable, bedding crisp and clean. Owners and family were welcoming and friendly

Negative: Some of the cutlery and plates etc were not washed up properly, maybe worth checking. I think previous visitors had obviously used and not cleaned them well.

Positive: Great location, rustic charm

Negative: No heating on, no hot water for washing up, no WIFI, surfaces needed cleaning as did cooking area and cookware before I could use them. I've subsequently read the owners response and would have to significantly down grade review. I always leave feedback and I always try to be fair and honest and don't mention faults out of spite but to suggest I left any kind of mess is a real insult and I would have to add to my review dishonest owners. I came to the room clean from work stayed in the room for the duration and never went near mud!! The wifi did not work at all I have a text from the owner claiming it was out for the entire locale but I now suspect this to have been a fib too. Not suitable for business travelers.

Negative: The garden would not have been suitable for young children, lots of nettles and prickles about. The spiral staircase was not easy to negotiate.

Positive: Location and privacy. Off road parking outside property. TV and radio. Drinks, toiletries and towels provided. Grade 2 listed with interesting history. Outside seating. Homely and quaint.

Negative: Difficult to unlock front gate. Narrow windy stairs to first floor. Toilet downstairs. Double bed not easy to get into. Not suitable for anyone elderly or with disabilities. No shower and bath on a ledge.
