Positive: Helen & Gordon were exceptional hosts: making us feel welcome when we arrived and offering suggestions for local sightseeing and adventures. The surprise welcome box with wine and goodies was very appreciated! The cottage was perfect for my daughters and I - with an open-plan kitchen and spacious lounge. The bedrooms were lovely, with very comfy beds. The sweeping vistas from the bedroom were stunning- magical to wake up to in the morning. The location is perfect for exploring Buxton, and the surrounding area. We highly recommend this cottage- cosy, with amazing views and ideal for exploring Derbyshire and further afield.

Positive: I can think of nothing else you would want, or need that wasn't provided at the Courtyard Cootage where I stayed (except, maybe, for me, natural, non-fake indoor plants here and there, although there may be good reason not to place any around, I suppose) The double bed mattress felt moderately soft. The single beds' firmer. The accommodation is aesthetically and functionally, very pleasant. Lovey decor. Quaint and pleasing indigenous style abodes, set in a gorgeous buzzing, yet peaceful rural environment. It is a very short ride to farm.café/shop and fairly short bus ride, or drive to some main supermarkets, entertaiment, places of historical interest, intreguing, activities (acctively centres within short driving distance, in Buxton area..Go Ape, a go carting centre and a climbing location.. but please N.B... not safe at all to swim in quarry near buxton) There is also a de luxe spa place. There are parks and gardens worth visiting. . Surrounding the area of the cottages are intersting villages, an towns with excellent restaurants, as well as wild swimming, rural walk/hike locations. Helen is the superb hostess...There were also welcome goodies and snacks provided. Go see and experience for yourself.

Summary: Satisfyingly comfy and intreguing, plenty of promise for fun and adventure here..

Positive: Helen was very welcoming ensuring that we had everything we needed. She has a very comprehensive pack of things to do during the visit and was on hand to answer any questions and offer advice. Check in was very easy. Courtyard Cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen was very well equipped, the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of parking. It was very easy to travel from the Cottage to various areas around the Peak District.

Negative: The Booking.com site would not allow us to send messages to or receive them from the Host through the Booking.com site. Apparently due to GDPR reasons as the property is listed by Sykes Cottages through Booking.com . However, Helen, the host, was able to make contact directly to provide us with all the information we needed. It would be convenient for Helen if this issue could be sorted our by Booking.com and Sykes Cottages. The wifi was a little unpredictable but Helen is aware and looking into it.

Summary: An extremely comfortable cottage, conveniently situated for access to much of the Peak District.

Positive: The cottage was beautiful and in a wonderful location! The facilities were excellent, as were our lovely welcoming hosts, Helen & Gordon. A perfect base for the week for our little family. Our daughter particularly enjoyed the selection of family games provided as well as the chickens roaming around outside. 😊
