The cottage is located in North DeLand, close to DeLeon Springs, but also convenient to downtown DeLand and Stetson University. The cottage is tastefully decorated, with new appliances, flooring, cabinets, fixtures, lighting, bathrooms, the large rooms offer plenty of space, the one bedroom has a king size bed, the bathroom is handicap accessible, and space includes a stacked washer and dryer. The cottage sits on a very pleasant and peaceful 7.5 acre lot, this is in a rural area of DeLand so expect dirt roads and a country feel. There is a main home also on the acreage, but spaced a good distance from the cottage; so, privacy is available. Onsite is a small working farm, a few farm animals (4 pigs, 2 goats, chickens, and few horses) so beware they do make noise. We often see deer and wild turkey pass through in the morning and evenings. This is a great place to relax while visiting the DeLand area. Also close to New Smyrna beach (25min), Daytona beach (35 min) and Orlando (1 hour).

Summary: This place is awesome and the host was great. Hate to recommend as I always want it to be available when I would like to use it, but that would not be fair to the host John. It is off the beaten path and a wonderful place to relax.

Summary: Absolutely loved our stay! John was very welcoming and available for any questions or concerns we had. The cottage was super charming! Plenty of room with both of us and our Black Lab. Having the extra half bathroom was really nice as well! The property was gorgeous with lots of animals to watch graze around. Close to everything. Would definitely love to sty again!

Summary: This property is amazing! The accommodations are clean, comfortable, and for the most part, ADA friendly. The animals are sweet, social, and loving. The experience of staying at the farm is relaxing, quiet, and calm. John, the owner, is very kind and helpful and unobtrusive. Staying here was a dream and we look forward to returning.

Summary: Thoroughly enjoyed our week away at John’s cottage. We both needed a relaxing break and this hit the mark completely. It’s not too far from DeLand with its quirky shops and the local restaurants. Loved seeing and being with John’s animals which were super friendly, but don’t forget some earplugs as it is a working farm. John was a great host, the cottage was spotlessly clean with everything we needed. This is definitely a return to visit away from it all place to stay.

Summary: It was a peaceful setting and we loved the character of the cottage. The animals provided entertainment. John was a great host even though we didn’t need anything he was just a text away or we saw him out doing his chores.

Summary: Great hidden gem. Enjoyed the area and the animals on a daily basis. Just right size for my better half and I to stay and journey out daily to be with our new grandson born at end of December and living outside Deland. Will be back.
