Summary: Het appartement was echt geweldig!! Er ontbrak niets. Volgens de beschrijving was er geen t.v., maar tot onze verrassing was die er wel. We hadden ook een fijne tuin tot onze beschikking. De gastvrouw en de gastheer waren super vriendelijk. We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad.

Summary: Sehr gepflegte Wohnung mit Garten und Terrasse in einer zauberhaften Umgebung. Wir haben dort wunderschöne Tage verbracht, inmitten der wunderschönen Eifel. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit!

Summary: We werden vriendelijk ontvangen door de huiseigenaar maar kwamen in een zeer koud huis. Het duurde heel lang voordat het appartement behaaglijk warm werd. Dat vinden we wel een aandachtspunt voortaan vooraf de verwarming aanzetten! Het appartement was prima, schoon en gezellig ingericht, met een mooie keuken, waar alles was wat je nodig had en goed sanitair. De bedden waren voor ons wel wat aan de harde kant, dat was jammer! De omgeving is mooi, de Vulkaan Eifel heeft veel te bieden. We hebben enkele Maaren bezocht, kleine en grote. Bij het Schalkenmehrenermaar kon je fijn wandelen en op het terras van Restaurant am Maar kon je heerlijk lunchen op een terras met uitzicht op het meer. Hillesheim is een mooi stadje en er is een prima ReWe supermarkt. Het centrum is erg mooi gerestaureerd. In de buurt van de de Vulkaanroute richting Gerolstein hebben we een kleine Maar bekeken, het Eichholzermaar. In die omgeving is ook aan te raden om het Vulkaanpark bij Steffeln te bezoeken en daar te wandelen. Heel prachtig is het daar. Bij het Vulkaanhotel in die plaats kun je ook heerlijk eten. Om te winkelen is Daun erg geschikt en er is een hele goede Konditorei, nl. Schuler. Heerlijke taarten hebben ze en geweldige chocolaterie maar je kunt er ook prima lunchen. Hun keuken is zeer zuiver, ze gebruiken geen E-stoffen. In Daun is ook een zeer goed Italiaans restaurant/pizzeria, vlakbij het Parkdeck Zentrum. Aan te raden in die plaats is het vulkaanmuseum. In Niederehe hebben we twee keer 's avond gegeten bij Gasthof Schröder, erg goed! In het algemeen was het zo, dat je overal voor niet al te veel geld goed kon lunchen en dat bovendien de kwaliteit prima was, geen toeristenvoer. De familie Sesterheim was vriendelijk en stond klaar voor je vragen. We hebben toen ze vier dagen naar de Moezel waren op hun verzoek nog 4 dagen op hun katje gepast en hem eten gegeven. Als dank kregen wij 4 potjes met heerlijke jam en later 2 stukken taart. Dat er geen zon in de tuin was vonden wij niet helemaal waar, er was altijd wel een plekje te vinden, hoewel wij niet veel in de tuin hebben gezetten. We zijn ook drie dagen naar de Moezel gereden, omdat het daar wel 5 graden warmer was en het leuk was om daar weer eens te komen. Een hele andere omgeving en prachtig met mooie stadjes (vooral Bernkastel-Kues), Traben Trarbach en Zell am Mosel. Je rijdt in een klein uurtje naar Bernkastel, waar het wel erg druk is met toeristen, maar erg gezellig! We hadden wisselvallig weer, soms erg koud, ook gelukkig hele mooie dagen. Al met al hebben wij een hele fijne, afwisselende vakantie gehad en voelden wij ons erg thuis in het mooie vakantieappartement van de familie Sesterheim.
