Summary: Nice property

Summary: I give 5 stars to the Owner/Property Manager, Denice. We had a few issues with our trip, but once we messaged Denice, she was very quick to respond and tried to fix the issue at hand. She was very nice and easy to talk to! A few "let down" things we noticed when we arrived after doing our walk-through, was house keeping could've done a better job. We had a toilet that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while and was growing some mold, we had several dead insects in the cabin (which I know can be inevitable, but we stepped on one and it was crunchy like it had been there for a while), we found hairs in the shower and in the floors.Even though the packet states "firewood available on first floor", we were expecting to have a nice fire in the fireplace, but no firewood was left and sticks and branches can only do so much. - So bring your own firewood or an axe if you would like a fire! We also noticed a very pungent mold smell downstairs. Like it has been wet and closed up for a while. So we never got to go downstairs to enjoy the pool table. If you have a truck, I would drive it. It's a steep hill and very bumpy! My car wouldn't have made the trip, it's a good things we drove my husbands truck. The cabin itself was nice and we had a great time just relaxing and doing a few things here and there.

Summary: I gave the property 3 stars for cleanliness only because when we got there the cabin had not been cleaned from the previous vacationers that were there. The beds sheets had not been changed, dirty towels, food still left in the fridge. I called the owner of the property and she got someone out to clean the cabin within the hour and said she would refund our first night stay. It was a little frightening driving up to the cabin on the long rocky , extremely bumpy road. Other than that this cabin is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ! The kitchen was well stocked with plates, cups, utensils etc.

Summary: Everything was great but it would have been nice to have easier access. Not use to traveling on one lane roads

Summary: The roads are steep and can be difficult to drive up. All automobiles made it up. It has room for about three vehicles to park. I had to call for a tow because I pulled a little too far down next to the deck. There is no recliner sofa in the game room as shown in the picture. Overall though it met our expectations. Liked there were a private bathroom and bedroom on each floor.

Summary: I loved that the pictures online looked like actual real-life pictures. It was very clean. The basement had a musty smell to it though, so something should be done about that (dehumidifier for example). It was just so spacious and it was wonderful how every level had a full bathroom. We were one of the last cabins in the neighborhood. The driveway to the cabin gave us a secluded and private feeling which is what I wanted. The firepit was so great. Would be even more amazing with a hot tub. Another recommendation would be to unclutter a lot of the storage underneath the sinks and kitchen. We created a lot of memories in this cabin and we were all very sad to leave.

Summary: Really nice with plenty of space to spread out inside and outside. We really enjoyed the the screened in porch, the pool table, fire pit, and fireplaces (both wood burning and gas log). It made for a warm and comfy place to getaway. They also recently upgraded the wifi which allowed for streaming of movies with no latency issues. We didn’t try to do any gaming on it, but I imagine it could handle it if needed. Note that though there was a mention of provided firewood, there was not actually any firewood provided for the wood burning fireplace. On a related note, the provided firewood for the fire pit was actually just old wet wood trunk pieces that needs to be split. However, we were able to purchase some firewood at a local grocery store (Ingles) for both the fire pit and the fireplace. There were plenty of dishes and utensils for cooking and also plenty of space for seating wherever we wanted to sit (either inside or outside). Note: the sharp knives are rather dull and the cutting boards need to be replaced. We did not use the grill because there was a misprint on the powerpoint that was sent to us stating that there was propane provided. There is no propane provided for the grill. They may want to invest in a sectional or larger couch in the basement, but it did not take away from our fun with the pool table. A minor thing we did notice is that multiple light bulbs need to be replaced in all bedrooms and main ceiling fan in living room. One bedroom on the main floor had only 1 working lightbulb in ceiling fan. The beds are mostly of the firm nature. So, you may want to bring a mattress topper if you sleep on a softer bed. The hiking trails adjacent to the property were nice but when hiking on them, it is difficult at times to know if we were hiking on private property or not. So, keep in that mind if wanting to take any of the trails that originate below the fire pit. We did have issues with the refrigerator and a water leak into the basement of the house that was triggered by an outside water faucet that we tried to use to spray off muddy boots. It likely broke during the winter. So, we had to clean that up for the host. The maintenance guy did come out quickly to address both issues. They did decide to wait to fix the water leak until after we left which was fine since it was an exterior faucet. So, overall a good stay with some minor issues.

Summary: It was my 63rd birthday and we had a great stay at the Raccoon Ridge with my family . Downtown Blue Ridge was on easy drive . The kitchen had all the equipment to prepare meals , ample beds and space for everyone. We played pool and games , they only thing that could be improved on was seating in the game room .
