Bedroom 1 upstairs: queen bed
Bedroom 2 upstairs: bunk bed (full bottom, twin top)
Bedroom 3 downstairs: L-shaped room, with queen bed on one side, and king bed on other side (twin that pulls out into a king)
Living room 1 upstairs: couch, 2 chairs
Living room 2 downstairs: couch, Roku TV
Kitchenette: full fridge, microwave, countertop oven/airfryer that fits a 9x13" pan, induction hot plate w/ cast iron fry pan, coffee pot, toaster. Dishes for 8 (Not there is a not a full sized oven or range)
Patio: griddle, grill, table for 6-8
Deck: 4 lounge chairs, hammock stand + hammock
Please Note: 102 steps down to the lake. Bench with view halfway down. Dock with bench during summer. As the merchant of record MN REandM does retain a 4% credit card process fee to cover direct costs in the event of a guest cancelation. Reach out if you have questions about this policy.

We employ the highest quality professional housekeepers in the area. All bed linens are washed off-site, and towels are provided. Our cleaners use a line of eco-friendly, non-toxic products. They also stock the following items: shampoo, conditioner, liquid hand soap, individual bar soap, toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, garbage bags, trash bags, laundry soap, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, sponges, and propane (estimated value of $50 per stay and is covered by the cleaning fee).

Summary: My friend and I chose this cozy cabin for a beautiful fall getaway with our families, which includes two babies under 8 months. The layout was perfect - my husband and I had the two upstairs bedrooms (one for our baby), and my friend and her husband had the basement for themselves and their baby. During the day, we all hung out upstairs and cooked, played games, listened to music, and enjoyed the beautiful fall views of the lake. We were even allowed to bring our little Pomeranian (Mulberry) who had a great time snoozing around the house. We all loved this place, and would definitely come back next year.

Summary: The property has a great lake and cabin feel. Checking in was a breeze, and the place was very clean. It was unseasonably hot on two through five September and therefore we needed to use the air conditioning, the air conditioning didn’t really cool the House because of the heat. It has an ac indoor unit in the sunroom. The beds are really comfortable and even though no stove or oven. The flat top grill outside was awesome. A lot of steps down to the water, and well you’ll get your work out. Overall enjoyed everything!

Summary: The Cabin in the Pines is a spacious comfortable getaway on beautiful Lake Schamineau. The beds are comfortable, with box fans and ceiling fans thru out the house. Good showers. Multiple patios for outside dining or sunbathing. Two important details for future rentals. 1. The kitchen is small and does not have a stove. Instead, the Black Stone flat surface grill serves as a great replacement. Easy to cook everything from eggs and pancakes to fish, meat and vegetables, just a few steps away on the patio. There is a toaster oven, microwave, air fryer and a toaster. Plan accordingly. It’s perfect for summer menus, IMO. 2. There are 105 steps to/from the lake. We were a party of able adults and while it left you breathless coming up, it was not a dealbreaker for us. However, it could be an issue with elderly or very young children. The beautiful lake is worth the climb, but be aware it adds an extra effort. There is no beach. The water’s edge is lined with large stones and drops down a couple of feet from a weedy berm. The water is relatively shallow and slightly weedy, so being in the water wasn’t difficult, but it isn’t a friendly beach for little kids. The dock is good—stable and safe with a bench. Easy to tie up a boat for the weekend. Other little details: the lower level thermostat is weird- leave it off. Kitchen and FR could use improved and more lighting. We had a problem with the water pump but Mike was responsive and we were good sports about it.

Summary: Cabin is GREAT! Plenty of outdoor areas to lounge and hang. Great area, with plenty to do, if you want. Stairs to the lake was the only detriment. I didn't mind, but my in-laws never made it down the 106 steps to the lake.

Summary: My husband and I met our 2 adult kids at this VRBO for mothers day weekend- it was a great space with plenty of room, comfy beds and lots of room for all of us and our dog- it was great that we could bring him along too. We used the fire pit and played games and just hung out and visited. Mike was great and always accessible to help with any questions. The property was clean - linens smelled great and it’s was so nice to have shampoo, conditioner and other items provided ( and coffee too!) We would love to come back in the summer and take advantage of the lake and go kayaking. I struggled with the door lock at first but Mike was a phone call away and we figured it out. Thanks for a great weekend!
