There is also a neighboring 3 bedroom house which sleeps 9 this is an option for family reunions, this is only available as an add on and does not have it's own beach.
Approximately an hour from Chicago. Hudson Lake only 75 miles SE of Chicago. This recently rebuilt Luxury Cottage is anything but ordinary. Comfortable style with a fully equipped kitchen. 500 sq. ft. of decks, an 50 foot pier, and a swim raft. There is also a beach house for grilling and relaxing closer to the beach, easy way to keep an eye on the kids. We supply bed linens and bath towels. You will need to provide beach towels. There are two TV's with Xfinity. Washer and dryer are provided on site. There is central A/C and heat. Large driveway provides off-street parking for at least 4 vehicles and room for your boat trailer, so just bring food & drinks & you're set! Beach, boating, and BBQ are all right here! There is a Pontoon boat and a Jetski available for rent or bring your own. Historic New Carlisle, Parks, antique shops, groceries shopping, Bowling alley & great places to eat are nearby. It is also easy to access downtown Chicago as the South Shore Train stop is approximately 1 mile from the house. We are located on an 700 acre all sports lake that is great for fishing too! Luxury bathrooms & a 2 person soaking tub in the master suite. We also have a front yard fire pit & fishing poles for you to use. Home is near Three Oaks Century bike trail and is perfectly located for biking. 6 miles to New Buffalo beaches, shops, and restaurants and Four Winds Casino resort. 5 miles to artsy Three Oaks, Michigan, and its art galleries, theater and independent movie theater. Golf at Whitaker Woods Golf Course, or Briar Leaf Golf Course. 8 courses within 15 miles. Outlet shopping in Michigan City. Nature hikes at nearby Spicer Preserve. 15 miles to Notre Dame University. 2 miles to Heston Steam Train museum. Minutes to apple picking, peach, blueberry and pumpkin farms. Feels like Wisconsin. Similar to Paw Paw Lake or Twin Sister's Lake in Michigan. One of the nearest recreational lake south of Chicago, IL. This is the perfect spot for a reunion of friends or family. Also a favorite for Notre Dame visitors, game weekends and weddings. No smoking, will consider pets.

Summary: This is a very nice house. Very clean and roomy for family quiet time when not by the lake. Great kitchen with everything you need. The lake itself is beautiful and quiet on a bay at the end. We spent hours on the jetski and would highly recommend renting it. The owner was fantastic responding immediatley to any questions or small issues.

Summary: Every year we get away as a family and visit somewhere new. This year we stayed in New Carlisle! We had a group of 7 and this home was perfect for all of us! Plenty of places to sleep. Home was clean and had everything we needed to cook and feel like home! The barhrooms were beautiful! There was also plenty to do at the home....kayaks, paddle boats, fire pit etc. Even met a few neighbors and they were very nice! The town was cute and the view was amazing! Close enough to wineries and other local things to do! We loved it and had the best time! Already talking about going back there again!

Summary: Traveling to get to your destination can be stressful that first day. I found the oversized soak tub an absolute dream to dissipate the tension. The next day, the spa-like shower provided a pampering area for exfoliation as well as a relaxing rain shower to cleanse the mind. The vanity was well lit for facial preparation and the decor and ambience a treat. The rest of our stay was just as enjoyable. The kitchen was a joy to cook in. There were plenty of pots, pans and utensils, all of good quality. The sleeping arrangements accommodated all 9 of us without feeling cramped. The boathouse was a bonus, providing a space for those who wanted late night activity. The pontoon was something that helped make family memories as we enjoyed all that goes with being on the lake. The sunsets were beautiful. And the Bay Area we were located on had countless hours of fun for the kids as they played on the amenities offered. They fished, used the paddle board and paddle boat, and the blue float mat was a huge hit! We will definitely be going back.

Summary: We were so happy with this rental! Very quiet lake. Enjoyed the kayaks, boat rides, swimming, fishing, chickens. So much fun for our family. Also a short drive to new buffalo. Spent a day there during our stay. Would definitely go again. Our kids said it was their best vacation yet!

Summary: My family loves the Hudson Lake/New Carlisle area and Shari and her son Ryan made sure we had everything we needed, offered helpful suggestions for activities in the area and had a really stocked home complete with chickens. We loved using the paddle boat, the "lily pad", sitting on the very long, sandy beach and playing games on the rainy day. The plus was bringing our pup who had a great time, too. We are already planning next year's trip!

Summary: This was such a lovely getaway! We loved the house, the lake, and the pontoon. It was nice to wake up each day and just head down to the lake. The chickens were an added bonus that we loved having as part of our trip. Shari & Ryan were both great to work with, and easy to get in touch with. There are a few restaurants close by, New Buffalo about a 25 min drive & Michigan City about a 30 min drive. We enjoyed our time & will definitely be back!

Summary: The outdoor space was exactly what we were looking for. Kids absolutely loved the water pad. Kayaks and pontoon boat were great. The beach house was great for relaxing while watching the kids play. It gets full sun in the afternoon and the umbrella was not functional, so that would have been nice. The inside was ok. Kitchen was a little small to prepare meals. Everyone seemed to enjoy their rooms. It was explained to me to try to have people use the upstairs toilet, but in a group of 10 with 5 kids it's hard to get everyone on the same page. I'm guessing that's why the main level toilet clogged several times. Major bonus...this place has chickens. Not sure why it wasn't mentioned in the listing, but the kids loved watching them and everyone loved the fresh eggs. The property owner's son was very attentive. This could be hit or miss for some people. He was there when we arrived to show us around and was around for most of the first couple days working around the property. One night we were having a fire after dark and he showed up to drop off some gas cans for the boat. Honestly, we were caught a little off guard. Very nice guy and very helpful, but my personal preference would be to have the house to ourselves. Overall, everyone had a great time

Summary: Had a great time at the house with family (7 adults, 2 kids). House is well stocked and furnished. Good communication with the owner. Lake is a nice size and near many things in the Michiana area. Outdoor areas had a fire pit, grill and lake side room with deck. Would stay again.
