Walking around the surrounding area you'll find an untapped and scenic area that seems impossible to be only 90 minutes from NYC.
Home was originally owned by the D & H Canal Company, who housed the family of the Canal Keeper, which maintained the nearby Roebling Bridge, when it was used as an aqueduct. The museum is worth cheking out. You might even catch a glipmse of this very house in a photo or 2 from over 170 years ago.

Summary: We very much enjoyed our stay at the Danas' wonderful farmhouse! While the outside of the farmhouse has been lovingly preserved, the inside has been updated/modernized. The kitchen is huge, with new counters and appliances, and all you need to cook a family meal. The bathrooms are great and hot water is readily available. All of the bedrooms have comfortable beds and cozy blankets. We also enjoyed hanging out in the living room on the comfy couch watching The Golden Girls together (they have a smart TV) to unwind before bed. Outside, the house has a gigantic yard with a great firepit. We had the best time roasting marshmallows and making s'mores (if you need firestarter or s'more sticks, the Kittatinny store down the road has them). They have a big stash of firewood on the wraparound porch that guests can use, as well as chairs if you want to relax by the fire and look at the stars. The stars are incredible due to very little light pollution. You can also see the river across the road when it's light out, which is pretty. We also wanted to mention the location, because it's perfect! The house is 5m drive from Barryville and even closer to most of the river adventure companies. We went tubing down the Delaware with a company called Kittatinny and had a blast. In Barryville proper there is a great ice cream and casual dining place called the Barryville Kitchen and Creamery (right next to it is a fun little "garments and gear" shop called Clobr); and then we also enjoyed dinner at Henning's Local (15m drive from the house) and breakfast at Irene's Eldred Diner (10m drive from the house). We had wanted to check out the Bang Bang Bar for happy hour, but were too tired after tubing. All in all, there's some great places around! Big thanks to the Danas family, we had a wonderful time.
