Summary: Pros: Location is good for walking into town Cons: 1) Upon check-in I notified Michelle of old food in the fridge(not just condiments but obvious leftovers) and a garbage bag sitting on the deck-she confirmed she would clean it out the next morning. 2) Overnight the third floor bed broke, you could see that the slats were broken and someone had previously repaired with tape. I notified Michelle in the morning and she assured me she would send someone right away to repair. She also offered a one night refund which I did appreciate. We had several chats back and forth during which time the repair person did come to fix the bed but the fridge still contained old/leftover food. 3) I again had to notify Michelle of the old food, which she removed that night. 4) I requested to checkout a day early and receive a refund for that night as well which Michelle agreed to. 5) At this time, one month later I have not received a refund yet, and am not getting responses so I have opened a credit card dispute. I am hopeful this will be resolved. This property could be so much better managed-it is clear someone lives there, which is completely fine, but when one is paying these rates for a rental, one expects that the property will be clean and functioning properly. If the owner would spend a bit more time cleaning, preparing and inspecting the property before rental it would go a long way. Unfortunately I cannot recommend staying here until these types of things are resolved.

Summary: On entering a somewhat unkept lawn, you step up to a porch with three wooden dining chairs and a dresser with three drawers missing. The outside porch light was burned out. Opening the door you are greeted with a typical long living/kitchen space typical for houses of that locale. Numerous dusty decorations and trinkets adorn which over-whelm the space. The “television” is an Amazon Echo. Floors and floor boards throughout were dirty. Into the kitchen are assorted supplies and food items but none of which serve a specific purpose for a renter and were open. The refrigerator was haphazardly stocked and the listing noted breakfast included. That promise of breakfast consisted of a box of half-consumed cereal. A used butter plate sans butter was sitting next to the frig. Ants and gnats were present. Entering the back deck with one chair, you are greeted with garbage bags and, below the deck, a pile of consumed beer cans and more bags of trash. Climbing to the upstairs areas you will be greeted with a mildew shower curtain, stained bathtub, partially cleaned toilets, no cover sheet on the bed, randomly placed tables, a laundry basket full of dirty laundry, no dresser or closet availability (all were stuffed full of clothes) and, as in kitchen, disconnected smoke alarms. Finally, there was no hot tub as listed. As individuals who pay for clean and comfortable, this rental falls far below the mark. Summary: We had a lovely stay! The host was very communicative and responded very quickly to any questions we had during our stay. We also traveled with our dogs and it was in a nice area that we could walk them and there is a yard they could be in also. The house is located in a great location in West Chester and we were able to walk to great restaurants and shopping in the area.
