The first bedroom with queen bed is conveniently located on the first floor with private bath and direct access to the main living area, private office space, and outside deck. The second story has another bedroom with a queen bed, a bunkhouse bedroom sporting four twin XL bunk beds, and a second full bathroom. All three bedrooms are adorned with new handcrafted cedar log furniture.

Summary: We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Dave B.'s. The house is at the dead end of a gravel road so no one passes by. The house is well-stocked with all kinds of supplies. We availed ourselves of the fireplace and the Smart tv. Dave reminded us that there are no stores within a 20 minute drive so we were well-prepared with groceries. All of the light switches are labeled. Very helpful. We hope to come back next year, as do our dogs. They loved romping freely in the large yard and their leashed strolls along the road. There is a short looped walk further down the Settlers Way. Tens across the board.

Summary: We had a great time staying five nights here for our spring break. The house property (inside and outside) was very well kept. My parents have limited mobility, and the downstairs bedroom/bathroom set up was perfect for them. Our four kids looooooved how the bunk beds were in the same room, and the upstairs bathroom was so spacious. We found everything we needed and more. If you stay here and forget something, dig around before you panic. I loved that there was a first aid kit, washer and dishwasher detergent, solo cups, and the fridge was so clean! We spent our time around the mammoth caves area and Nashville — both of which were a little bit of a drive, but we enjoyed the flexibility of being able able to drive through the country to get where we wanted to go. Dave was great at welcoming us via message the day of, and sending us off via message the day we left. I’m sure if we had needed something he would have been very responsive and helpful. We cooked most of our meals in the kitchen and on the grill, and we found the kitchen well stocked and easy to navigate. My dad had a conversation with the neighbor when he saw him bringing the trashcan in, and said that his interaction with him was really good. I know he isn’t apart of the rental (lol), but it’s nice to know that good people surround the place you’re considering staying at. All and all, I’d for sure recommend this rental to any of my friends if our vacation was something they were looking to replicate.

Summary: We spent the weekend of my wife's 50th birthday here. Her first wish when planning a trip was she wanted to go somewhere peaceful and serene. This property definitely made her wish come true. The house is actually nicer in person than the pictures portray. It had everything we needed and then some to be comfortable. It was extremely clean and well appointed. We were able to spend several very relaxing days here and would like to go back. The owner checked in on us and was very gracious. If your looking for a peaceful getaway, choose this property!!

Summary: Just what we needed - a beautiful weekend. Cabin was beautiful and beautiful property. Very clean - and had everything we could possibly need. I wish it was closer to the lake - it was a steep walk down to the river - but beautiful.

Summary: Property was very nice and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen could use some plastic wear especially bowls. The plates were good quality but too heavy for the kids. The grill was very greasy and dirty and I cleaned it before we attemped to use it. The storm doors didn't latch or shut completely and that was unsafe for our toddler. Also, the wooden french door onto the dining area had a loose handle. Upstairs the drain in bathtub did not drain properly. One of the cornhole game bags was damaged making it hard to keep score properly. We brought life jackets but since owners are providing the kayaks it would be nice to have some available as the nearest store was 20 plus minutes away. An information guide in the cabin telling about things in the area and some information regarding what was available for food, medical info. etc would have been nice. We relied on the internet for all of this info. All other places that we have stayed provided this info. We felt that for the amt. that we paid for the two nights there could have been more upgrades.

Summary: This was a great property for our short family vacation. There was enough room for our teenagers to have some space but was cozy and kept our family together for games and fun most of the time. We didn’t get to use the outdoor space as much as we’d hoped because it was very hot and humid but we did enjoy evenings on the porch. The walk to the lake access was steep but manageable- a bit tricky with the kayaks but nice to have that option!

Summary: Our family had a wonderful time on this property. Cabin had everything we needed. The yard is large with lots of space for activities. One of the best fire pits, we used it every night. And so quiet. A great retreat. We did Mammoth Cave one day and rented a pontoon boat one day. Barren Lake is beautiful.
