Island View Guest Suites is named after the spectacular view of Vancouver Island across the Georgia Straight. A 20 min drive from the Langdale ferry terminal, our home is steps away from the beach and surrounded by the many hiking trails that the sunshine coast has to offer. A queen bed, kitchenette, laundry, sitting area, private bathroom, private entrance and covered patio with seating area, patio table and BBQ completes the checklist for a perfect coast getaway.
This private suite with ensuite is newly renovated and can accommodate up to 2 people. The appliances and furnishings are new. Equipped with a kitchenette which includes a fridge, combination microwave/grill/convection oven , sink, toaster, coffee maker and a tea kettle, it is perfect for those who may want to eat in. WIFI is included and a smart T.V. With many shows to watch. You are also able to conveniently self check-in by a electronic door lock.
The covered outdoor patio is private and has cozy outdoor furnishings along with a patio table and a BBQ.
We offer Kayaks for rent to explore the surrounding waters or paddle across to the Trail Islands and enjoy the sea lions bathing on the shores. In the evening enjoy time around the fire pit and take in the fabulous view across the Georgia straight to enjoy the twinkly lights of Nanaimo.
I live in the home upstairs and will be there to meet and greet you upon your arrival and answer any questions you may have. The suite has a private entrance, so interaction will be minimal, except in our homes garden where I spend a lot of time tending to the many plants and flowers.
We are centrally located in West Sechelt on Island View Road. Our home sits on the side of a hill which gives us amazing unobstructed views across the straight. The south facing location provides a full day of beautiful sunlight. Our location requires a car to access the downtown area of Sechelt and hiking trails but we are blessed with the entrance to the Golden Mile beach right at the end of our road! Located on a no through road, it is a quiet and peaceful neighborhood.
We have 2 dogs, a Great Pyrenees and a chihuahua. Both dogs only have access to upstairs in our living space and our fenced in backyard. However, if you love dogs feel free to say hi, they are very lovable.

Summary: We loved our stay. Set back from the highway so it's nice and quiet, but the beach access was just a few hundred meters from our door. Thoroughly enjoyed the private patio and its cute frog fountain, and even tried the fire pit one evening. Comfy bed, too!

Summary: This property is a five minute drive from Sechelt the view is as advertised, the owner’s are very accommodating and friendly. I would stay again. Although the dogs were not disruptive if you have allergies to dogs I would pick another venue.

Summary: The location was great with an amazing view of the ocean. The studio itself was very cute and inviting. The floor in the bathroon needed a good scrub. The outside siting areas were very messy and dirty. The views were great if you didnt mind dog hair, the chairs outside the unit were under the upstairs patio and the dogs sat up there and their hair was coming thru the slats in chunks. The sitting area with the Adirondack chairs view was blocked totally by planter boxes if you sat. All in all not a bad place! Would stay again.

Summary: This is a nice compact studio with a great porch view of the water. She has a beautiful well kept garden, attracting birds and huge butterflies. And the location is great, close to town but also the other direction Sargeant Bay (great kayak fishing launch) and Halfmoon Bay. Recommended.

Summary: The kitchen was amazingly well equipped for its compact size. We really enjoyed eating outside and made good use of the gas fire pit and BBQ. The beach is beautiful for walking along.

Summary: Location was quiet, well away from the highway, and good for our vacation plans: walking and hiking. (Others may want to be closer to restaurants and shops.) Cooking was difficult in this cottage, although we did cook for ourselves using the nice barbecue on the patio and an electric frying pan. Wished we'd brought microwave-safe containers to heat/cook food, as there were none. Very little prep and cleanup space, but this was shown clearly in the ad. Best for people eating most meals out. Enjoyed chatting with the friendly, very helpful property owner and touring her garden. Also enjoyed the short walk down to a beach where we saw spouting gray whales in the strait.

Summary: We stayed for three nights at this lovely property. It is exactly how it is portrayed ... a cozy studio with amazing ocean views. We enjoyed being able to walk to the beach, 5 min down the road. It was central to many hikes and close enough by car for groceries. Teresa was absolutely lovely - she communicated in a timely manner, was very welcoming and made sure that we had everything we needed. The studio has everything one might need for a getaway, and the access to a washer and dryer was a treat. We would stay again in a heartbeat! Thank you for a lovely weekend!!
