Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. It is such a cozy property surrounded by nature and every amenity was thought of. It was quite cold when we went but there were a few heaters that kept us warm, extra blankets. The kitchen had all the appliances needed. The bathroom was fully stocked. This place is perfect for a cozy quiet weekend

Summary: Unfortunately our girls’ weekend was cut short due to a member of our party getting sick overnight, therefore my review is only based off of check in through the following morning. We arrived Friday evening around 7:30pm. The cabin was 45°. There wasn’t a house manual binder so I looked to the VRBO app for direction, we needed to adjust the thermostat to all of the baseboard radiators and turn on a couple of additional units in the main room. We immediately got the heat turned on and figured by the time we brought our bags in and got settled that it would be comfortable. This was not the case. One of the plug in electric heaters kept turning off and displaying an error message. After googling the problem I found the filter was very dirty and therefore it was turning off as a safety precaution. We spent the entire first night huddled up with our parkas and hats on, sipping hot tea hoping to be able to finally relax. By the time we went to bed (after midnight) the room temps were warm enough with cozy pajamas and socks. In the morning it was evident my friend had a stomach bug and we needed to head home for her to be more comfortable. I messaged the host a couple of times— asking for tips to warm the place up and clarifying checkout procedures. Response time was a little sluggish, but respectful. Guests are asked to wash their dishes and put them away. I have no problem taking care of my mess, but without a dishwasher I have very little confidence in how sanitized the dishes are from the guests who stayed prior. Lastly, after booking I was asked to either pay an additional fee for property damage insurance or a VERY large amount for a refundable deposit. I wasn’t keen on paying a fee for protection of damage I wasn’t going to do, so I opted for refundable deposit thinking it would be similar to a hotel that just authorized an amount on a credit card, but doesn’t truly charge the account unless an incident occurred. The VERY large amount (VRBO won’t allow me to disclose the amount) was immediately charged to my card and won’t be refunded until a week after my stay. Perhaps this is a VRBO practice, but nevertheless, it seems like an outrageous amount to be charged and kept over the course of a month. In summation, the property is cute and in a convenient location. I would hope that we are the first and last guests to pay for an evening so cold that you must be bundled up. Hopefully the host will turn the heat on for you

Summary: Nicole was very responsive to emails and that shows she is a great host. The cottage is very cozy and the kids loved the loft. Also, without doubt the loft does capture the beautiful sunset! We had a great time but wish it was warmer outside so we could do some biking and hiking but the time we spent indoor was indeed fantastic.
