Summary: We had a great weekend. It was a girls weekend getaway. Cute cottage. I read previous reviews so we were prepared for somethings that are being updated /fixed. But it served our purpose. Being right on the water was amazing! Communication with owner was excellent!

Summary: We had a fantastic time! The cottage is clean and kitchen is well stocked with cooking items. The water was perfect for fishing and swimming. The kids loved doing cannonballs off the dock. The sunsets were gorgeous. Only downside was that we had to bring our garbage home with us. If we could have left it in the shed or something that would have been a bit better than driving home with it in an already packed car. But it really didn’t affect our vacation. We had a great time at a great place and hopefully we will do it again!

Summary: First the positive: The cottage was very clean. The location was right on the water as shown, the lake was really beautiful and the fishing and water activities were quite enjoyable off the dock. Loved the sunsets. The neighbours did not bother us in any way and it was mostly quiet. I would suggest for this price range some things should be included that are not, to make the stay a lot more comfortable (a strainer if you want to wash anything, better pots/pans-nobody uses scratched Teflon anymore due to it being a health hazard, a new water unit- We ended up not using as older ones tend to grow mold and no way to know that unless you take it apart) Accuracy of listing- well it would have been nice to know everything prior to paying- starting with the correct address (the correct address was provided very close to arriving and so it caused us to spend some time looking for it once we were there) Secondly, being upfront with all the rules prior to paying like: asking the occupant to not flush urine, and not to use heat or AC was a bit cheap in my opinion given the price. It is a VACATION so no normally people don't like thinking twice about how often they flush and they might want some cool air if the temps go high. I know there have to be some rules, but these ones were over the top. If I had known about the rules I probably did not rent this property. Lastly, we are not very picky guests. The cottage could use upgrades but we didn't care about any of that except for the sliding door. We each got a really good arm and core workout opening and closing it about 100 times a day as the door sticks and is very hard to slide. There was no mosquito screen so we had to constantly fight with the door. The bbq is quite ancient and was quite dirty- we cleaned it off and used it somehow- if this is something you care about. We love good food so yes this was a detraction. When we were leaving, the owners arrived and seemed to be watching us leave- some of our group felt uncomfortable with that. Not sure why that was done but there was no friendly conversation it just felt like they wanted us out ASAP. It felt weird. Overall, we had a good time anyway, because we love nature, and don't really spend time inside, but having these inconveniences detracted a bit from the experience. The price is too high for a place that is bare bones, quite old, with nothing added for comfort or convenience, with no drinking water and apparently no AC or heat.

Summary: My family and I enjoyed 3 nights (4 days) on Chesley Lake. The view of the lake from the cottage, especially the sunsets, was stunning. It was fun watching people water-skiing and riding their sea-doos. The deck is large and a great place to enjoy a peaceful morning coffee. Our kids enjoyed fishing off the dock and making smores around the fire. The cottage was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The internet was reliable and the air conditioner cooled us off on a particularly warm night. The cottage is 20 minutes from Sauble Beach where we spent an afternoon. We were also able to book a tour to Flowerpot Island in Tobermory which is only an hour and 15 min drive away. All in all, we had a fantastic weekend.

Summary: This is a fine little cottage, nothing fancy from a building perspective, but the waterfront is awesome! You need to bring everything with you (no salt, pepper, toilet paper, etc provided), and you can’t drink the water, but the dock and waterfront make up for it, and as an added bonus, you have a great view of the sunset!
