Summary: Thank you Betty Jo for sharing your beautiful home. Our vacation week at the Little Cottage was peaceful, quiet & relaxing which was exactly what we were hoping for. The pictures are accurate and we found it very comfortable, clean & well stocked. Having Kinderhook Lake right out the back door along with the rail trail steps away was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back again.

Summary: The little cottage was perfect! The layout of the space gives plenty of options for resting and gathering together for meals, games, or a bit of TV. Ductless mini split AC units in all the bedrooms and main living space helped keep things cool. The outdoor area by the lake is serene and provides easy access for swimming. The owner is very responsive and helpful. Super clean, well appointed cottage. Absolutely loved it!

Summary: Delightful and classic lake house surrounded by small New York villages with great restaurants and friendly people. Furnishings were comfortable and clean. Loved the indoor gas fireplace and the outdoor fire ring. Especially enjoyed watching the birds on the lake and looking for the bald eagles. Betty Jo was very responsible and responsive to our questions. We look forward to coming back again.

Summary: We spent a few days at the Little cottage with my Wife, Son and his two boys. What a great place that was clean, quiet and had plenty of space for our crew. The property owner was very responsive and we even had a chance to catch a few fish from the back yard. What a great time and we will be staying here again.

Summary: We had an amazing stay at Betty Jo's place! The house is right on the lake. There is plenty of seating overlooking the water and a large firepit, which we used our second night. We got steaks and local produce from Chatham Berry Farm which we grilled on the charcoal grill (there's also a gas grill). There's plenty of space in the house, which had everything we could need during our stay. We got there at midnight and the check in process was very easy (lockbox with key inside). There are some lovely towns nearby - we explored Chatham a bit (nice brewery) and went on a hike one day. Betty Jo is also great when it comes to communication. We didn't have any questions during our stay but she certainly would have answered them in a timely manner if we did! Overall, I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a nice, relaxing weekend on the water!

Summary: Our church rented the cottage for a week to house our guest speaker and his family. It was perfect location for them and layout of the house worked very well for them. The owner was also very accommodating letting us go in to drop off supplies ahead of our guests arrival and allowing me to pick up an item after normal check out time. We are very grateful we were able to rent this cottage.

Summary: The lake is beautiful! The home is very comfortable and clean, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. We enjoyed swimming in the lake, with evening s'mores over the lake-side fire pit. Wonderful place for a relaxing vacation!

Summary: The little cottage was lovely. Enjoyed watching the lake activity - birds, fish, ducks, geese, swimming dog, paddle boarded, jet skier, water skiers, all kinds of boats from canoes to pontoons to motor boats , fishermen…. The weather is beautiful this time of year and everything was so pretty and green. The cottage was nicely appointed and had everything needed. BettyJo is a gracious host and would check on me to see how we were doing and kindly answered my curiosity questions about things in the house and the island house. Location is rural enough to feel like you are getting away, but close enough and easy enough to get to things you need and places to see. Thank you so much for opening your lovely home.

Summary: If you are looking for the perfect place to relax, this is it. Everything is very comfortable - beds, chairs, couch. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you might need. The view can't be beat. We have stayed in VRBOs around the world and this is one of the best! The owner was a dream to work with and checked with us (virtually) when we arrived and left. Samascott's Farm Stand (homemade ice cream!!) and Chatham Berry Farm Stand have pretty much any fresh food you might want. The rail trail walking/bike path is right outside the front door. Even though there are neighbors on either side, it still feels private. There are numerous parks within and easy driving distance for hiking and seeing waterfalls. If you like used books, seek out the Rodgers Book Barn - off the beaten path but worth the visit. We thoroughly enjoyed this vacation!!
