Positive: Ideal for a short stay great location for the falls and other local attractions. Friendly staff who made the stay very enjoyable. We only stayed for one night which was great value and included a great breakfast. The room is a little on the snug side but we were aware of this but for a short stay it wasn’t a problem. We will definitely return.

Positive: Location was great, room was lovely, clean and smelt nice on entering. We booked in to eat in the evening, the food and service was excellent. Lovely atmosphere, will definitely stay again.

Positive: A routine booking turned into a memorable stay - and unexpected adventure in the Yorkshire Dales. Instead of heading to the Lakes and more expensive hotels that night, my daughter and I made a last minute booking for the Craven Heifer - but beware there are several hotels with same name and we went to the wrong one. A 20 mile detour later, we eventually arrived to find the hotel shut - lights on upstairs but door locked. As it began to rain we thought we may be sleeping in the car but a passerby told us that the landlord and us wife was around the corner in the working men’s club - an unusual oasis in such a small community. The hotel managers hadn’t realised we had made a late booking so were enjoying a rare night off. We were in no rush so had a beer or three and a natter with the friendly locals - the village has an interesting history with impressive disused railway viaduct @ caves, waterfalls n walks on doorstep - before our hosts escorted us to our hotel room. It was a tight fit with double bed and coffee maker in corner as well as adjoining what looked like new en-suite with super hot shower. A good night’s sleep was followed by a tasty cooked breakfast in the bar, including toast, orange juice n coffee brought to table by hostess who was impressively bright n breezy despite her night out. Kudos to them for taking over the rural pub in challenging times and making improvements when hotel profit margins can be low, especially in the long northern winter.
Negative: Little room to move in our room with double bed - avoid bringing lots of luggage

Positive: It certainly requires a higher star rating than it has, Very friendly and helpful staff, the room was well kept, clean and everything worked. A super full English breakfast included in the price. We'll certainly be back if in the area again.
