Positive: Loved the cosy room and the bed was comfortable. I’m used to camping and a small oil heater was in the room. Beautiful location and the castle was interesting as was the artwork. Alan was responsive to messages and had clear instructions

Negative: The castle is in a neglected state, which was sad. But the room was fine for the price.

Summary: Best to visit spring to autumn time.

Positive: We liked the location a short drive from Galway and the secluded stay. Exploring the grounds was a highlight. We stayed here to have a unique experience.

Negative: We didn't receive the informational welcome email until the day after we arrived-not sure if that was a Booking.com issue or the host's, but having the check-in information BEFORE we arrived would have led to a better overall experience. Although the experience we had was good for us, I recommend that you do your research, especially if you have allergies- the photos I saw online are outdated. I would have liked a little informational brochure/paper about the history of the location.

Positive: Omg, it was the real deal! Wanted a castle and got a castle.

Negative: It is winter, it is a giant stone building, yes it was cold.

Summary: The kids would say cold and scary. I would say adventurous! We did arrive at night, and it was definately spooky.

Positive: Is very quirky and unusual to stay in. We just wanted to experience something different on our adventure. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. My daughter loved the cats they are extremely friendly. Overall was just fun to stay somewhere unique.

Negative: Id just suggest people to do their research of they aren't as laid back as us they might not know what to expect. It is a old house so can be cold in communal areas and damp. But it is a work in progress and has great potential.
