Positive: We enjoyed a very pleasant 3-night family stay during winter off-season. The rooms were spacious and clean, and had everything we needed, including comfortable climate control. We enjoyed hearty English breakfasts and two dinners at the restaurant. The view from the restaurant area is peaceful and beautiful. On the cold winter nights, we enjoyed eating by a warm fire. One highlight was conversing with the owner, Mr. Mike Brook, who was very friendly and welcoming and is a wealth of information on all things Botswana. We also completed the boat safari and spotted a variety of animals including water monitor lizards, rock monitor lizards, and crocodiles (along with an abundant variety of birds). Stay was very nice - recommend!
Negative: Upon our arrival at Crocodile Pools, the reception and check-in process could have been a bit smoother -- it was slightly unclear where our rooms were and how the check-in was supposed to work. The playground was nice but be aware that there is a rule limiting its use to kids 8 and under (could have been an issue in our mixed group, but the rule doesn't seem to be strictly enforced). Views from our rooms were nothing special -- but we weren't expecting this and the restaurant views more than make up for it.
Summary: Very pleasant and memorable family winter stay -- great mix of activities and peace and quiet
