Positive: The location was stunning and the bedroom very comfortable - it was perfect for birding and like being at a Homestay more than a hotel. Angie the owner and hostess was a marvel and so accommodating with trip ideas, transport, food and lives on the property
Negative: The bedroom needed a new shower but the rest of the room was excellent - a seat by the small “crooked tree” lagoon would have been a nice addition.
Summary: Perfect birding location with stunning views whilst staying in a private well designed comfortable cabin.

Positive: This is a great lodge in a wildlife conservation area, directly on a lagoon and adjacent to a charming village with a long history. Angie, our host, was welcoming, warm and personable, and flexible in accommodating our plans. We enjoyed canoeing in the lagoon and relaxing in the hammock on our veranda. Breakfasts were wonderful and generous. The location is also a great base for exploring Altun Ha and other attractions nearby.
Summary: A great place to relax in a welcoming and peaceful environment.

Positive: Location location location. Angie was also a fabulous host. It was more like a home stay. The accommodation was more rustic but lovely. The view from the cabin - idyllic. Although no food choices what was prepared was home cooked by Angie , delicious and wholesome. Any food intolerances were catered for. Only recently reopened for a variety of reasons - and should be supported. It is a little gem with loads of potential.

Positive: Beautiful location, perfect for birders like myself. A family business; very sweet family. My cabin was very nice, comfortable, all necessary amenities, clean, good AC.

Positive: Superb location for birding with cabins overlooking the lagoon. You can sit on your porch and the birds will come to you. Angie goes above and beyond to be a wonderful host. Crooked tree wildlife sanctuary is down a 5 mile road off the highway so recommend getting a ride to the lodge. Recommend stopping by a grocery store and fruit/veggie stand for food and drinks. It’s best to get cash to pay for your stay and any excursions like Lamanai or Altun Ha.
