Hickey Creek Lodge is a Large Log home located just 10 miles east of Munising/Pictured Rocks area. This is a beautiful, spacious retreat for large families wanting to spend some time together exploring the area.
We are north of Shingleton, on the trail for snowmobile/ATV' enthusiasts and a perfect location, out of our busy little town, to relax, get away and enjoy the Pictured Rocks and Hiawatha National Forest area!
A spacious 5 bedroom, 2-1/2 bath custom build log home on 7-1/2 wooded acres, great for large family stays, up to 14 guests, close to Pictured Rocks, Chapel Rock hiking trail and all our area has to offer! Gas, grocery and restaurants are nearby.
This home has a 3 car attached garage, heated for winter guests! Custom build bar with 7 barstools, Game area with Foosball, pool table, ping pong and darts! Gas fireplace with Lake Superior stonework! Large kitchen for cooking, living room.
Large backyard for playing and large deck for visiting and grilling. Huge fire pit for summer fires.

Summary: The house was easy to find and well marked at the road with a very visible sign and flat pebble-and-dirt drive. A short 15-min drive gets you to Munising and all the local stuff to do. Great location! Inside, there are 5 bedrooms - 1 off the living room, 2 down the hall from the kitchen, and 2 above the garage. There are 2 full bathrooms and a half-bath - one full bath off the corner bedroom with no other access from the hallway, and the other full bath in the hallway off the kitchen and living room. The bedrooms above the garage currently don't have a full bath nearby. It's a bit of a hike to the hallway bath. The kitchen is spacious with lots of storage in the cabinets and the pantry. The living room is smallish for such a large home, but the sofas and chairs were comfy and the TV was big. The basement is where all the fun happens. The owners have created a huge rec room there - a large bar with lots of stools, large TV, a pool table, a ping-pong table, darts, and even a workout area. A lot of time was spent here drinking, laughing, and hanging out. That said, the area has no plumbing - there's no working sink and no bathroom in the basement. Also, the refrigerator and cooler down there had out-of-order notes posted. We had to store our beverages upstairs and bring them down, and take glassware used at the bar upstairs to wash. We didn't really get to use the outdoor space because it was cold and rainy most days, but it was there and we appreciated the large deck off the dining area. We did get out there one night to have cigars and stare up at the milky way! The house was VERY clean, probably the cleanest house I've ever rented. There were plenty of towels, cooking utensils, dishware, and supplies. We never lacked a pan, dish, or tool. All in all, we had a fantastic time at the house and in the area. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, especially friends groups. Like noted above, there were a few small things that this place could improve - add a working basement fridge, install plumbing at the bar, add a bathroom above the garage and a half-bath in the basement, and put in some nice countertops in the kitchen, and this place would be a premium rental any day of the week. Also, add some Lions gear - there's far too much Packers gear here! ;) For us, these were little things, hence the 5-star review. We quite enjoyed our time here - thanks for the memories, Hickey Creek Lodge and owners!

Summary: The property was awesome. It came with everything we needed and more. The basement and all the games was a blessing as we had a rain day to do nothing , so we all played games and hung out entertaining ourselves . We all loved the privacy the bedrooms had to offer. Lots of space for everyone in our group (8 adults) We would for sure book again.
