Positive: You have access to the sea via a tiny beach, but you better not expect any waves. There is a diving resort nearby, the Jean-Michel Cousteau (not on booking.com), just a 5min drive from Daku. You can learn to dive or, as an experienced diver, sign up for their diving for a day. It’s one of the best places to go diving in all of Fiji.
Negative: The position of the Duku resort on the map is somewhat inaccurate, it is rather close to Savusavu town.
Summary: It’s a nice budget resort along the shore near Savusavu.

Positive: The location, the price and the large bungalow 4 bedroom plus on-suit for up to 10 people was awesome. Internally it was clean, tidy and inviting - I would come back with friends to experience that again. Also the general staff team was helpful and accommodating of our needs and requests. Grounds and fauna were fine.
Negative: The Daku Resort team responsible for the outward presentation of buildings are very 'house blind'. Some cleaning and painting required. The swimming pool was cloudy therefore the water was not inviting. Some resorts took the opportunity of Covid-interruptions to reinvest - not Daku for whatever reason. The kitchen didn't deliver well on their all-day menu, some items taking an hour to arrive. Lastly there was some funky smells lurking outside at times.
Summary: I wouldn't take much for Daku to present itself better.
