Positive: Room 407 - Fab location - A welcome gift from the hotel (water, cakes, cookies) - Slippers - Sewing kit - Daily towel change - Daily bin emptying - Breakfast is amazing! Huge selection every day. Hungarian, continental, meat friendly, carb friendly, warm selections, fresh fruit and veg, even oriental! Well done for the chefs and the waitresses! That was my highest positive experience. - receptionists were kind

Negative: - After I’ve booked the room, I’ve received a message that the pool won’t be available during my stay - Bread crumbs and hair in drawer on arrival - Dust and crumbs on surfaces on arrival - Ants in the room on arrival and onwards - Bedding wasn’t changed during my 7 nights stay (I’ve put out the ‘please clean my room’ label every day) - Blocked drainage at bathtub on arrival and onwards - Broken plug in sink on arrival - Loose arm on chair on arrival - Balcony door’s hinge needs attention as it is hard to close it (from on arrival) - Nail clippings in the room and balcony floor on arrival Dear Danubius Hotel Arena, I have read through the reviews and saw your answers too to customers. I find it unacceptable that you state that if there’s any problem the customers should report it to the reception. I disagree. As this is the housekeeping’s job not the customers’. You advertise your hotel with beautiful pictures, but the reality is totally different. Your rooms need thorough cleaning, not surface level cleaning, especially before a customer occupies your rooms, paying for the service which is not provided is way below standard. Despite the fact that so many issues needed addressing I’d expect you to upgrade me free to a mega superior room if I reported it on arrival. I have stayed for a whole week and on the 5th day I saw the housekeeping lady and asked her how often do they change the bedding, she replied with every 3-4 days. I asked her to change my bedding as it hasn’t been. She didn’t. I have paid a lot of money for a week and the cleanliness of the room let me down big time. The reason I didn’t report it right then is because if you advertise yourself as so good, I’d expect you to deliver and not me begging you to fix the issues.

Negative: Bed was a bit soft for me. Mattress protector is something plastic stuff. I sweated all night long. But otherwise it was comfortable.

Negative: Staff, they charged me additional person, which was not on booking and took them 45min to arrange return. Rooms are overpriced. This is definitely not 4* compared to other hotels in this region

Positive: Size of bed, bathroom clean. View to the city and the facility, location of the hotel.

Negative: Noise insulation towards the corridor is very poor. I could hear exactly if somebody is talking on the corridor. The elevators are very slow.
