Positive: Fantastic to experience a unique architecturally designed home in Darmstadt. It feels incredibly spacious and full of light which was what we were looking for. If anyone has trouble sleeping a sleeping mask should do the trick. We loved the rooftop terrace and various spaces to spend time in when the sun was coming down. It is centrally located, we could walk to my partners parents house and the city. It has everything you need, coffee, herbal tea, black tea, a Beamer, sound system, cooking utensils, soap, a dishwasher. We loved leaving the door cracked open so we could hear the water flowing through the water feature outside. A very calming and beautiful space. We highly recommend staying at this special loft. Thank you for having us!

Positive: We have to be honest. There are certain kinds of couples that would have loved this rustic, quirky, ground floor apartment kind of property that we stayed in, and perhaps the pictures confused us, but the property was a bit of a let down for us to be fair. Property was a quite dated, garden unkept and walkway from the road through to the property like an afterthought. Nonetheless, it was double ceiling airy with a skylight (if you like sunlight early morning) and it was private. the bathroom was adequate and the basic amenities needed to make breakfast were there like electric stove, small fridge, some basic pots n pans n dinnerware. The beds were a nice wooden rustic design though not matching the overall decor to be fair. the loft which we expected to be an actual space was literally a walkway above the bedroom with a sofa there. The wifi is good tho. and easy parking on the main street opposite the hideaway and you should pay 7.5 Euros for a full day which is not too bad. There are 2 cafe/restaurants on the same street, tho we did not try any of them. A big plus is its on the ground floor so no stair climbing with heavy luggage, which is such a pain in most of Europe.

Negative: The location is not immediately apparent, as the place is tucked away behind dense foliage, and behind an enclosed private car park. We had to wait some 10 min until the keys were handed over by an old gentleman who only spoke German. Luckily I spoke a bit. There were 2 small fridges (ideally min-bars) which were not plugged in, for some reason. The bathroom sink needed a good scrub-down, and better lighting inside. The place could do with a better set of kitchen equipment/appliances, utensils. For those that want blackout curtains and dark rooms to sleep in, forget about it, as once the sun is out, the room brightens up, even with the motorized skylight shade pulled across, which didnt help. The paper thin window curtains didn't block much sunlight either. Works for those who like to wake up summer mornings at 535am. And as a personal opinion, we thought the pink color - all the way to the double height ceiling, was a bit overpowering. The cabinetry for the kitchen n storage were very rudimentary and could be upgraded and decor matched. The yard could be tidied up a bit and the walkway to the property better lit and better laid out. Honestly, perhaps we are used to a different concept of bed n breakfast kind of place and our expectations were different when we booked the property. As we mentioned earlier, it could well appeal to a different group or demography of couples, perhaps younger, but was not for us.

Positive: Lots of space, open loft, fully equipped kitchen. Towels and bedding were provided. Our 2 dogs were welcome, we only paid a small additional fee for cleaning.

Negative: The heating was off when we arrived so it was quite cold inside for the first 2 hours. Perhaps the host could turn the heating on before guests arrive in winter.

Summary: nice loft apartment in a calm street still not too far from the main station
