Positive: The old Dutch farmhouse is beautiful and appears to have been recently renovated. Each room has its own theme, and we stayed in the Writers' Room. Personally, I might have chosen a slightly different room layout, as it was a bit tricky for my husband to access his side of the bed. Breakfast was generous and beautifully presented — perhaps even a little more than we could manage! We also very much enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant, although it would be great to see a few more options on the menu, especially for vegetarians or vegans.

Negative: There was quite a noticeable perfume scent in the bedroom and a slightly unusual smell in the bathroom. Even with the window open, the fragrance in the room remained quite strong. Sometimes a lighter touch can be more pleasant, and I felt that applied both to the room fragrance and the breakfast. The couple who run the Pingerhoeve are very kind and welcoming, and they share their home with two lovely cats. As much as I like cats myself, I personally prefer not to have them in the restaurant or breakfast area of a hotel or guest accommodation.

Positive: Owners were amazing, very friendly and accommodating. Food and wine were excellent, even for us vegetarians! Room was unique, quiet and clean!
