Positive: For folks traveling with kids in the eje cafetero, Decameron Panaca is a relatively good choice. The hotel is right by Panaca and has easy access to it, though bear in mind that the entry is sort of hidden on the right to the Panaca entrance and signs are small. Food (buffet and snacks) and drinks are ok for an all inclusive, no top shelf brands. Lots of games and entertainment for kids, so it gets crowded and loud at night in the common areas. Spa area and pool is kid free. We had an event at Panaca and booked the hotel for convenience's sake.
Negative: The food is ok but not extraordinary in any sense. Best for families wanting a classic Colombian all inclusive entertainment hotel right by Panaca. Child free couples should look elsewhere for peace and quiet, the bungalows seem to be a good choice though definitely pricier. Food could be greatly improved. Very crowded.
Summary: Good place for families wanting the Eje Cafetero agrotourism experience with crowds and noise.

Positive: The overall facilities are good. Our room was quite spacious, although very warm. The buffet restaurant offered a variety of food options.
Negative: The constant loud music was overwhelming and not enjoyable for us. It seemed like the hotel was geared towards families who don't mind the noise. Children were running around loudly, making it hard to relax. Plus, not a single staff members spoke English, which made things difficult. Getting a taxi was a hassle, the receptionist denied my request to call us a cab and handed me the phone to do it myself, which I found quite rude. They only had one functioning restaurant with buffet, and trying to make lunch/dinner reservations at their sister hotel was a slow and complicated process so we didn't manage. The check-in window from 3 to 5 was too long, and there wasn't anywhere to wait comfortably for our room. The hotel felt crowded and chaotic, not the relaxing atmosphere we were hoping for in a resort.
Summary: Not the kind of stay for us.
