Our deckhouse is close-in to Washington DC. Outdoor enthusiasts, this house is within easy walking distance to the Potomac River, Capital Crescent Bike Trail, C&O Canal, parks and playgrounds. It’s a 15 minute drive to Georgetown. If your plans are for 30 days or more, this is a great choice. The house has vaulted ceilings, spiral staircase to upper level with 2BRs, large wrap around deck that's great for BBQ.
The space is open, airy with natural light from floor to ceiling windows. Feels like a cabin in the woods! Lower level can double as a bedroom or workspace. The house comes with linens and a fully equipped kitchen.
Note: house may not be suitable for children under 4 years of age or individuals that have difficulties with stairs.
The Brookmont neighborhood is located just off of Macarthur Blvd with easy access to one of the most beautiful spots along the Potomac River. It’s the only neighborhood along the Potomac River that you actually walk down to the C&O canal safely with a foot bridge. There’s open country and so much green space around the neighborhood; it’s hard to believe how close you are to Washington DC.

Summary: Property was excellent, exactly as advertised and a very pleasant place to stay. Host was friendly and very responsive although there was nothing at issue that I needed to contact the host about. Would absolutely choose again.

Summary: This cabin feels like you are out of the hustle and bustle of the city but it is also just a very easy drive to DC.

Summary: Pam’s place makes you feel like you’re out in the woods but allows you to easily access DC (we drove down to the Mall area in about 25 min). We also biked right from the house on the many bike trails nearby. The house is super comfortable, very roomy, and has a large deck that helps you enjoy the wooded location. I would definitely go back in the future when visiting DC.

Summary: We were looking for a property that allowed us to have room for everyone (family: 2 Adults, 2 boys (age 11/13)) and a space with wifi for me since I had a work project that was going on. This space fit the bill. The house is in a nice residential neighborhood, a quick drive to get to groceries and the metro station, and near a small shared green space that holds a "farmer's type" market once a week. Things to note: there are metal spiral staircases to get from the bottom floor to the top floor of this home inside as well as to get from the off-street parking to the deck (main floor of this home). There is a back entrance where you can park for a bit to move your luggage from your vehicle to the main floor of the home (we didn't do that, but probably should have). The top floor has the main bedroom and a shared bathroom with another bedroom. That main room also had a window a/c unit. The main floor has the kitchen, washer/dryer, another bathroom with stand up shower and a main living room area with a big flat screen tv and couch. There is also a little "nook" with a desk area that I used for my work space. Lots of big windows in that room as well. The other bedroom is in the "basement" of the house. It was the cooler room of them all and has its own door to the outside (under the main deck). We used that as our luggage storage area. Wifi was strong, TV worked great allowing us to get to our Disney+ account for nighttime TV viewing. Kitchen had all we needed. We did notice a bee issue and alerted the owner who was quick to respond. It did take us a bit to figure out what door to use on the main floor to get into the home. The key is found on one door, but you need to use the kitchen entry. There was a sticky-note that was found on the deck that explained this, but it must have fallen off the key box (?). The neighborhood area is quiet, plenty of nice plants to view, has off street parking, and there is also the canal trail near by (which we did not get to this trip). The pictures in the listing are a little old. There are updates in the house were not shown in the photos (ie: the living area now has a bigger couch and the larger TV). Owner stated that this is a newer property for them to manage so there are a few things that need some updates including the electrical outlets. We were able to work out a few issues with lighting in the main bedroom by using one of the electrical power strips we found in the closet.
