Modern family house in the heart of the Normandy countryside, set in a natural meadow with a stream and small woodland area. Ideal for a family break with outdoor activities, or simply as a quiet restful rural retreat.
The house accommodates 6 people comfortably, and can sleep up to 8. The property is on two floors comprising:
Ground floor: sitting room (with sofa bed), large kitchen-dining room with fridge, washing machine, microwave, and 5-hob gas cooker, with electric oven. The sitting room has an open fireplace - an adequate supply of logs is provided for additional comfort in cold weather. Rear lobby with WC, and staircase to first floor.
First floor: double bedroom, bathroom & WC, attic bedroom with 4 single beds (2 may be made into another double bed).
The meadow is extensive, including a well, a stream and a hay field. The lawn adjacent to the house has a BBQ for alfresco dining.
Domjean village is a 5-minute walk. It has a boulangerie, supermarket, bar-tabac, hairdresser and a great local restaurant. The 18th-century church has modern frescos and a carillon. Domjean was recently awarded its 4th rosette as a โ€˜Village Fleurieโ€ โ€“ Village in Bloom. It hosts an art exhibition during the summer each year.
The village gardens include a childrenโ€™s playground and mini-golf, as well as a small campsite. There are many attractive walks nearby, as well as stunning views from the Roches de Ham.

Summary: The house was our headquarters for touring War memorials/cemetery and Mont St. Michel (approx. 1 hour drives). The home sits on the edge of town on a large lot - enjoyed hearing church bells and various animals and birds throughout the day and night. Close to other scenic villages and natural areas. The place is roomy and comfortable; owner very helpful. If we return to this area, we would like to stay here again.

Summary: Nice house with fantastic garden. Host very responsive. Loved the fact you can also have a barbecue in the covered area outside and shelter from the rain if necessary! Perfect countryside getaway!

Summary: The property and grounds were perfect. Kitchen was open plan downstairs was wonderful. Lovely bedrooms and a massive upstairs bathroom. We used the BBQ most nights with a great outside eating space. Domjean is a beautiful village and was perfect for days out to the Normandy landings, Bayeux other days out. Local shops 5min walk or bigger supermarket 10min drive. I would recommend this property.

Summary: This is a beautiful and typically French holiday let with everything you need for your stay. The location is fantastic for a quiet break and central for outings to explore western Normandy. Mont St Michel and Caen are particular delights as well as all the D Day locations. The garden/grounds are extensive and the symphony of birdsong was a joy. Highly recommended.

Summary: We had a wonderful time staying here in Domjean. The cottage is set in delightful gardens, we loved the meadow! Cookie our dog enjoyed the little stream and mothing in the evenings produced some beautiful specimens including Poplar Hawkmoth and lots of Garden Tiger. green woodpeckers visited in the day, and barn and tawny owls at night. The cottage provides a great space for relaxing, the kitchen had everything we needed and the cooker was excellent. The beds were comfortable and the water was hot. Thereโ€™s good walking in the area (the holloway at the entrance to the cottage leads to a lovely walk bordering fields) and Domjean is close enough to visit the landing beaches; we also enjoyed Villedieu-les-Poรชles and a delightful forest at Saint-Sever. We would love to visit again with Cookie, thank you so much Tim! Jo, Stu and family

Summary: We had a lovely time in Domjean and discovered a wonderful region. The owners and the property managers were very diligent and helpful when we had queries. The property was simple but comfortable and had a warm and cosy feel. The kids loved the vast garden, the little stream flowing through it and the neighbouring goats were an instant hit. The property guide was very detailled and helpful, as were the touristic guides and walking maps.

Summary: From the go, the booking process was seamless, communication with Tim was brilliant, he gave us help on places to stay and eat and the information that was sent was very thorough. The house itself was just as described, if not better! The pictures don't do the property justice, itโ€™s very homely with all modern conveniences but with a little touch of rural life! The fire was amazing and warm, being there in December it was a real must! The village itself is very friendly, the bakery was a must every morning and everyone we saw would say hello, my children want to move house so we can be close to a bakery!! The area around is great, with so much to see and do all within a 60min drive (if not quicker!) from the Normandy beaches to the town of St-Lo with its amazing food market (every Saturday!) to history and more! This house really is a place to go for everything, from relaxing in-front of the fire to exploring the area, this is the place to stay! Thanks Tim, we hope to beach very soon!!

Summary: The cottage is situated in a small and pretty village. It is an extremely quiet, peaceful and relaxing place, ideally situated for country rambles but with life's essentials - a bakery, small supermarket, bar and really good restaurant. The cottage is comfortable and well stocked with everything you would need for a holiday, including a super cooker, plenty of china, comfortable loungers and a washing machine. The garden is huge and safe with plenty of space for children to play. Despite being so quiet and peaceful the coast is an easy drive away as are good shopping centres and places of interest to explore.
