Nestling in the countryside between two villages near Saint Cyprien, Benac, Le Bugue and Sarlat, this lovely restored stone house has a large lounge with exposed stonework and beams, an open fireplace and chestnut parquet with rugs. There are 2 couches, a television, a video-DVD player and music centre. There is a dining area and fully equipped American kitchen with oven, dishwasher, microwave and 2 fridges. The lounge and kitchen lead onto a leafy terraced eating area overlooking the valley and swimming pool surrounded by large stone terraces the rest laid to lawn. There is a bedroom with double bed and shower room and toilet on this level. There are three other bedrooms and a bathroom on the floor below: two twin bedrooms and one with double four-poster bed. Two bedrooms have French windows opening onto the garden and bread oven. There is a utility room on an intermediary level providing central heating, washing machine, deep freeze. Tennis table garden chairs and BBQ provided.

Summary: Arriving at this wonderful spot in the middle of the unspoiled countryside and the warm welcome by Jacky and Francis was the start of a magnificent week at Le Scourbet. The preparations for our stay, the comfort as well as the cozy interior so tastefully decorated with many personal touches made us happy. Everything you wish for is available and you really lack nothing at all. Outside the lovely shady terrace with the large dining table, cosy seats everywhere overlooking the well maintained garden, the awesome pool with excellent sun loungers, the fields and the woods, and moreover the silence, it really gave us this "wish to stay forever" feeling. We spent more time outside than inside and enjoyed the several visits of the small deer and even once at sunset we spotted the wild boar family in the upper meadow. Indeed we were sorry to leave Le Scourbet, this true paradise on earth. Dear Jacky and Francis, on behalf of all of us, thank you so much for your immense hospitality, for all delicacies presented to us on arrival, in short for a magnificent and unforgettable week. Summary: Had a peaceful and very enjoyable stay. The house has everything for a comfortable holiday, and the pool and grounds are lovely. The hosts were spot on with their communication and welcome (wine, fruit jam and cake very much enjoyed). Local wildlife, deer, birds of prey etc. all paid a visit, nice to see.

Summary: Jacky communicated with us very well from the outset and she and Francis were on hand to meet us on arrival and show us around the property.Jacky left us wine, beer, fruit and cakes to make us welcome. A lovely setting, quite and peaceful throughout our stay:something we always look for. The house was comfortable and well stocked. The outside areas are lovely and we radiated to the patio table for meals and the various seating areas. The grounds are varied with a beautiful pool and woodlands to wander. Truly, a lovely holiday home and to be recommended. We'd certainly return.

Summary: We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Le Scourbet. By far the best property we have stayed in during our numerous visits to France. Really lovely house set in gloriously secluded grounds with an amazing large pool. It had everything we needed to make a perfect holiday. In addition the house remained cool despite the unusually high temperatures that we experienced. Perfectly located too. The hosts were very kind and helpful and we really appreciated the extra touches that they made. We would highly recommend this property.

Summary: We had a great two week stay at the house, the owners where super friendly (and English speaking, which is helpful for non-perfect French-speakers :-)) and absolutely helpful with any questions or issue that arose. The beds where comfy, kitchen hat everything that you need and lots of plates and glasses and a very nice welcome pack, too. And of course the outside area is a charm, sitting on the patio is really nice, and the pool area just as great. All in all a really relaxing, calm and nice stay, except for some nasty mosquitos and the next bakery needing a 10min drive (which were not really anything we can blame on the house ...) it is a place we can completely recommend (though please don't go, when we want to return next year ;-)). Thanks for a wonderful time.

Summary: This is possibly the best holiday holiday home we have ever stayed in. The setting is so private and yet convenient for everything. It is more like a sanctuary. The view from the kitchen and terrace is of the beautifully kept pool. Everything in this house is thought about and there for you. It actually felt more like our second home rather than a holiday let. My husband and 10 year old son went for a run every morning round the wooded paths and I made breakfast on the terrace with classical music in the background. Completely private and not overlooked, we lazed on the sun loungers reading or took a dip in the pool. Everything was clean and perfectly laid out. Open plan inside and such a comfortable feeling. I would urge anyone considering this property to just book it and you will not be disappointed at all. Lovely restaurant in the village in Urval too. The photographs do not do the house justice. The owners are such lovely welcoming people and we felt more like they were welcoming us as friends. Don't let it get away; just book it! Perfect; we'll be back.
