Positive: The owner greeted us and showed us around. He was very accommodating and eager to make sure we had what we needed. The design of the villa we stayed in was very unique, and we loved that he is so environmentally conscious while his construction project continues.
Negative: The shower has a beautiful rainfall shower head, but the pressure wasn’t really strong enough to guarantee you could wash then rinse the shampoo out. A microwave was listed in the amenities I read, but our room didn’t have one. The kitchen accessories are minimal- one frying pan and one pot. We made do, because it was a two burner induction stovetop. The property is vast, but it is still under a lot of construction. There was no noise, and it was very peaceful though. You really would need a 4wd to safely get up the rugged hill to the parking area of our villa. This will be a beautiful spot when it is completed.
Summary: Peaceful and amazing views, but still under construction.

Summary: Peaceful and serene, surrounded by a big nature reserve . Short walk down to the river.

Positive: We stayed at Destino for one night and really liked it! The place is surrounded by nature, and on a clear, sunny day, you can see three volcanoes. One of the coolest features of the rooms is that one of the walls is made of natural rock, giving you the feeling of being in a cave - yet everything is modern and well-built. The hosts were very welcoming too. Liz sent us lots of great recommendations for things to do in the area. You can also enjoy an outdoor bath with hot thermal water that comes straight from the ground. The highlight of the property is the cold river, which you can reach within a few minutes. In the Costa Rican heat, swimming in that fresh, flowing water was absolutely amazing. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking to immerse themselves in nature and quiet, while still staying in a comfortable and thoughtfully designed house.

Positive: The location is beautiful and being developed in a way that is respectful to the natural environment. The property is large, which allows for a diversity of activities. We hiked to the river, a most peaceful experience. The view from our room was spectacular.
Negative: Amenities like breakfast aren't nearby, however you have a fully equipped kitchen space, so come prepared. Deliveries are available for later in the day.

Positive: The most amazing view of the volcanos and valleys surrounding the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the apartment was nice
Negative: This is a construction site and the villas were recently completed. They are nice, and we liked the hot tub in front of our villa. Very little water for showers. Needs some finishing work, and some kind of curtains or shades to keep out the morning sun. Also a fan in the living area. There is a great Aircon in the bedroom but the rest of the place really hot.
Summary: This is not a hotel, bring your own food and ice. Orlando is a kind host.

Positive: Sleeping in a cave-like home was truly a new experience! Especially when you walk out and around this beautiful property and feel the peace in the air! We had such a blast tubing and playing in the river and we hiked nearly every trail… thinking of bringing my mountain bike next time! Thank you Destino!
Negative: No complaints from us! There’s still some construction around but If anything it only makes us more excited to see how this project advances in the future!
Summary: Excellent stay, lovely location, spectacular views, peaceful environment, and we will return for more very soon!
