Summary: Much needed renovations are underway. The rooms are circa 1980. On the positive side, Highlands room 181 is HUGE. Quiet location. Room 151 was smaller and musty. Both were reasonably clean. The restaurant is a nice in concept, all you can eat family-style, but the breakfast meats were very poorly prepared- rare bacon, over cooked sausage, breaded dried out pork tenderloin. $25 per person and as a family of 4 we ate maybe $20 worth of food total. At $25 per person, the food should be stellar and more imaginative. For the price of the room, it would have helped my rating if the breakfast was included. The staff at motel and restaurant were all very friendly. Great location. The horse farm was lovely, as were the views.

Summary: charming town, many fun shops and a few good places to eat big flea market on week-ends beautiful surroundings. two other great towns {Highlands N.C. & Franklin } within 30 min. we drive around and enjoy every place. must visit Julep farms a few miles down the road. great place to eat out on the veranda.

Summary: We had a wonderful day. Even though there was construction going on, they upgraded us to a cottage far away so we had peace and quiet and a beautiful view. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was fabulous.!

Summary: Even though the property was under construction, the room and service was very good. Staff fr I endly and helpful. Was upgraded to a room on other side of property away from the construction. Property is beautiful, views stunning, service was good! Loved my experience.

Summary: We took an unplanned side trip on our way home from Cincinnati. We love the Dillard area and Dillard House was a new option on Hotel.com. The property is currently under going major renovations. We were given an upgrade to a mountain view. Beautiful and relaxing.

Summary: Heard about the Dillard House for years. We made a trip down that way and decided for once to stay at the Dillard House, we knew the food at the resturant was great so wanted to check out the rest of the property. Will stay there again some time.

Summary: I decided to do a quick trip to the mountains and thought it would be fun to check out the Dillard House. We went as a family to eat at the Dillard House often growing up. Their meals, served family style, offer delicious choices and it brought back a lot of great memories. I knew the property had recently been sold and was undergoing renovations. I was surprised to see the main restaurant facility was being completely renovated and not currently open. They did a good job of signage on the property to direct you to check in and to the restaurant currently open in their conference center. The food was still great, the staff was friendly and the room I stayed in was very clean, well furnished, albeit a bit dated but scheduled to be renovated, quiet, and very comfortable with a beautiful view of the horse pasture. I spoke with the F&B manager who said they should be back in the newly renovated restaurant by the fall and shared all the other plans for construction and redevelopment. I was also glad to hear a member of the Dillard family is still involved with the property. I will definitely go back to check it out after the renovations are completed. It's a great memory from childhood and glad to see it still being taken care of and made better for the future.
