Negative: Pictures on website need updating as the lovely colourful comfy sofa on shown is on longer in the cottage.

Positive: The quality and cleanliness of the property was spot on. The owner, (I didn’t ask his name) was very friendly and down to earth. The beds were very generous in size and comfortable. The property is an ideal base for 4 adults, however, I’d say that there’s not enough seating to cater for 4 adults at all, unless 3 want to sit shoulder to shoulder on the settee. The 4th one would have to sit on the pouffe. The bathrooms, one main and one en-suite were fabulous! No complaints there at all, very pleasant indeed! The kitchen etc was ample in size and was equipped well. If I were to score just the building, patio and hot tub I’d give it a strong 7/10. The temperatures outside were around 10 degrees during the day and sub 10 at night and yet the air source heat pump kept the property nice and warm. I set the thermostat at 20 degrees and it stayed constantly 20 degrees. Very impressed with the system, stacks of hot water etc. even though we were in the middle of the farm yard, it was very private indeed! Well thought out. There are no beautiful vistas from the patio, but we knew that before we booked. One of the nice things about staying here was that we weren’t bothered once by the owners, we were left to just get on with it, which relaxed me, I don’t like owners poking their nose around saying, “we hope you’re enjoying your stay” when they just want to check on their property…none of that here. Fabulous!
Negative: Booking.com service was atrocious! Sent us an email saying the owner would meet us between 3-4pm. We arrived at 3.15pm. The owner knew nothing about it. We were supposed to have been sent an email with a PIN number for the key safe. It didn’t happen, even after contacting Booking.com. There was a very friendly lady that helped us on the land line provided and her communication was spot on, thanks to her the owner was able to help us. The owner is a very busy farmer and I presume that he pays for a service from whoever books his properties for him…if I were him, I’d be asking for a refund. Something MINOR…The huge t.v. didn’t work in the living area. (I checked it wasn’t the remote with the tv in the bedroom, it worked fine. Yet the remote from the bedroom didn’t work with the big t.v. either. Same make of t.v.)You know when you just want to kick back on an evening and just watch some tv with a glass of wine. So I phoned and left a message on one of the mobile numbers provided but nothing happened. With that in mind, I’d ask the owner for their contact details, just in case.
