4 Bedroom House in Bethune Beach, New Smyrna Beach

When we purchased this beachhouse we renovated the interior of this lovely beachouse and added new furnishings and bedding. Upstairs kitchen received new cabinets, granite, stainless appliances. All three bathrooms were totally renovated also. This area of the beach is so private and on a no-drive beach. You walk out of the house and you are literally right on the beach. We are just a few houses from the beginning of Cape Canaveral National Seashore and miles of pristine undeveloped beaches. Also, the lot next door is undeveloped and adds another layer of privacy.
There are 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, and two full kitchens and living areas, one upstairs and one downstairs. We have added 6 large flat screen tv's (40' in bedrms and 55' in living rooms ) and of course, WIFI, washer/dryer. House is Alexa enabled in living rm, master bedrm and den. There is a fireplace in the living room and also a beautiful view to the west of the Indian River (access for kayaks!) from the west deck.
Downstairs is connected via outside stairs providing extra privacy. Enjoy!
Sunsets & Sunrises: You will see the most beautiful sunrises over the Atlantic ocean and a clear unobstructed view of sunsets over the Indian River. Just an awesome east and west view from the beachouse.

Summary: We have rented this property for several years. The house definitely needs some improvements. The furniture in the upstairs living room is very worn, cushions on the couch and loveseat are worn thin, there is no support at all when you are sitting on them. There was an issue with the lock on the entry door when we arrived and it was assumed that the batteries needed replaced but as it turned out the lock itself needed to be replaced. The first night the air conditioner upstairs froze up but after 3 visits from the heating and cooling company it was resolved. This caused a leak in the ceiling in the downstairs kitchen. The linens and towels need to be replaced. Both are worn thin from years of use. We love the location but the house is in desperate need of some TLC.

Summary: This is our third property we rented on VRBO. When we arrived the house had not been cleaned. There were garbage in the bins and the sheets were dirty in a pile by the washer. We called Mr. Ray and had a cleaning crew in a little over an hour. They were nice cleaned the bathrooms and made our beds. It was not a full clean however. Secondly, our kids played with toys and when they went under beds or couches the dirt was piling up. Kitchen cabinets also have a musty smell to them. The house needs a deeper clean. We also noticed the couch in the living room and chair in the bedroom were dated and had flaking issues. Only other drawback was that there are no internal stairs to go downstairs. You have to go outside to enjoy the bottom level which also had a musty smell. All of that aside the location is perfect. The beach is private and there were not many people around at all. We appreciate the quick action by the owner to fix the cleaning issue. We also appreciated not only cable TV but Netflix as well. The tiki hut was a big hit for everyone as well. Its a good vacation home would liked it be a little cleaner.

Summary: We have rented beach houses up and down Bethune Beach for over 40 years. This house has been the best of all. Great location, however the beach has become shorter and softer over the past 15 years but It will become flat again. The beds were very comfortable. The view from inside and out was fantastic. I liked the wrap around veranda and western view of the river. You really know you are on an island. We spent most of the time under the shade of Tiki canopy on the deck overlooking the ocean. It was so hard to leave. We know we will be back.
