Positive: The room was reasonable. The bathroom could do with a better clean though. I took down the spider webs and bought an electric insect killer to deal with the flies. The guesthouse is 30 seconds from great local eateries and a little general store. The fruit and vegetable market is also walking distance. The salt mine is about 1.7km away, so an auto rickshaw up the hill and a walk back down will work. If you are up for the price issues, this guesthouse is okay.

Negative: I was surprised to arrive at the guesthouse and be informed that I had to pay an extra 30% per night for an air conditioning fee, which was not part of the booking confirmation. The advertisement clearly stated that all the rooms were air conditioned, but this is not true. Only one room is air conditioned. There was no pricing option on Booking.com for non air conditioned rooms, so the advertising is false. On the first night, the air conditioner stopped working. The night staff called a technician who discovered a loose connection in the MCB box, which had started to burn. If the place had caught fire, there would have been no way for me to get out of the room. There is no hot water, although the cold water is a little warm in the summer heat. The internet service is intermittent and insufficient for a video call. There were extended periods where it was not available. I asked the family to book a car to pick me up for check out. I was quoted a price, then that was increased at the last minute too. The driver didn't show up, so the staff organised someone for me - at the higher price.
