Positive: The breakfast was superb. Excellent friendly staff taking great care of the guests. The range of food on offer was more than you usually find in a buffet. But the highlight is that the best and most friendly two people in the whole hotel are taking care of you. The Spa is Ok. The pool is in a very lovely location, it was quiet when we were there but may be a little small if things got busy. The floor of the paddling pool collapsed while we were there! The hotel is in a quiet sleepy area, with very little going on around it. However Annecy, Ais Les Bains and Grenoble are 30 to 45 minutes away as is Lyon. The countryside is beautiful, well worth exploring.
Negative: Picture the scene. You have had a difficult journey, Heathrow doing its usual stuff, very delayed flight etc etc. You are tired hot and hungry when you arrive. Dragging your bags you follow the signs to the reception, only to find a sign pointing you to another reception! At that reception a feature of this hotel becomes apparent, very few of the staff including the reception staff have foreign language skills. But the worst is yet to come, you walk up to the restaurant to be told very rudely, that it is fully booked. There is only one restaurant on site, as the other one is still under construction. Finally, pleading got us a table. The next night we were not so lucky, told that under no circumstances could they accommodate us. This is truly awful and abject service for the hotel residents. The nearest restaurants are a minimum 15 minute drive away and closed on Sunday and Monday! Be sure to bring emergency snacks. We were appalled by the attitude of the restaurant staff (accept for one young lady who was very apologetic and spoke fluent English), but apart from her I would describe the staff that we spoke to in the restaurant as very rude. Just as final comment, the food is poor and not suited to children. In 40 years of travelling I have never stayed at a hotel that turns it's residents away from the only place serving food.
Summary: We will not be returning, the restaurant situation made this a very poor experience.

Positive: The onsite restaurant was excellent and the chef was wonderful and made a real effort to accommodate my dairy allergy. The spa is also beautiful and the massage one of the best I've had.
Negative: It would be nice to see more vegan and or non dairy options for the breakfast. In saying that, the staff were very accommodating and prepared scrambled eggs without cream for me.

Positive: The hotel is really beautiful and relaxing with e very beautiful design interior and exterior. Everything is very clean. The Spa was also very nice. The staff is helpful ( not everyone speaks English unfortunately)
Negative: The snack bar for monday dinner was very scarce and not good for a hotel like this. The could offer cheese and ham instead of low quality food and pizza. The next day the food in the main restaurant was very good !

Negative: Service in the restaurant was not so great, if you ask for more grissinis they tell you that you already had twice (three each?), and when they serve wine you need to hand them over your glas across the table. They seem not to have received a basic training of what good service is.
