Positive: The room in Donnington was clean and comfortable . If one had their own transportation, it would have been a better stay than it was. There is a large food market right across the road.

Negative: The Donnington advertises that it is close to downtown Truro. This is true, but it is a hard walk uphill from downtown, and finding transportation, if you don't have a car, was very difficult. I will definitely check topographic maps next time!!

Positive: The first thing was the amazing and lovely welcome from the staff - a greeting with a smile and a simple check in procedure got things off to a great start. Then the room I was given was beyond my expectations - it was huge! A very large double bed with a table and chairs to enjoy the view through the massive window looking out over Truro and 2 additional lounging seats for extra comfort. There was also a fridge and microwave in the room which is a very handy extra thing to have for a stay, particularly with there being a supermarket over the road. The bed was incredibly comfortable and normally it takes me at least one night of disturbed sleep to get used to my new surroundings in a hotel but I was out like a light on the first night and didn't wake until my alarm disturbed me the next morning. 3 perfect nights of sleep was had! The bathroom was also of a large size with plenty of space including a nice big bath for those who prefer a soak rather than a shower. My room was also cleaned comprehensively each day to the same standard I found it when I first arrived! It really was like a home from home - the true Guest House experience!

Negative: The only issue I had was the shower of which I just couldn't get it to work as I desired. It is clearly a brand new shower unit and a very modern one at that, but it felt that if I had the setting on high pressure to get a good level of water coming through the shower head, I could either have the temperature as freezing cold or scalding hot. When changing the setting to "eco", the temperature became a more comfortable one but the pressure dropped significantly. It's partly my own fault as I was leaving early and arriving back late each day so I never really had a suitable chance to mention it to the staff but if there is a way of making it work better, maybe a little note of instruction being left in the room would be handy. It is only this issue that has stopped me scoring it a 10 and I was able to actually have a shower each day so it wasn't the end of the world but I do enjoy my morning shower :D
