The condo is located at the heart of The Village, one of the oldest downtown neighborhoods in Montreal, built in the middle of the 1800s. It’s streets are lined up with trees and historical 3-floor stone or brick houses topped with slated roofs and window dormers. There are numerous old horse carriage doors, alongside more recent buildings and stunning murals. The neighborhood is sprinkled with manicured city parks and playgrounds, old schools and churches, and laced with large backyard alleyways mainly used as gardens. The history of the neighborhood and of its residents is told at the Musée du fier monde, located on the same street as the condo.
This hip area is composed of an ethnically diverse population including young families with kids, white & blue collar workers, retirees, old and recent residents, LGBTQ2S persons, and students of the nearby Université du Québec à Montreal, all living in harmony. Three main roads cross the Village: first, Sainte-Catherine St which is the main shopping and entertainment strip of Montreal. Second, Ontario St which is mainly filled with all types of specialty food stores. Lastly, Atateken St mainly known for its antique shops, designer stores and art galleries.

What Our Guests say 500 + Reviews

Summary: Our host was top notch on communications and suggested venues. Great apartment near the downtown area. Nice value, super clean and well provided with all the amenities, especially the kitchen. We prepared most meals from excellent nearby grocery stores. We also liked the outdoor terrace when the weather cooperated.

Summary: Rejean's place is great. We would return in a heartbeat. Pluses. Bigger than it looks online. Plenty of space for our family of two adults and two teens. Includes a walk-in closet that I didn't notice online. Very clean. No noise (new widows keep it out? and/or the neighborhood is quiet). Everything works as it should. Rejean supplies EVERYTHING. Yes, towels and linens. But so much more. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, fabric softener, q-tips, extra towels, EVERYTHING. This makes the stay worry-free. Also provided is a detailed map and description of everything in the neighborhood, and Rejean responds very quickly with advice -- he helped us find the best beach. This is all really great. The place is 20-30 minutes' walk to almost everything most tourists are interested in and a few blocks from the central metro station if you don't want to walk that much. And for $20CAD per day extra, you can park your car in the back, which we did. Rejean met us in person for check-in (he lives upstairs), allowed us to arrive a little early (because the previous guests left early), and let us store our bags at his place our last day so didn't have to haul them around with us. All great. Cons. Nothing important. The neighborhood is fine, but not particularly special or in the center of downtown or old town. As advertised, there is only one bathroom, but it is good sized. And only two beds (although the sofa, which is not a sofa-bed could accommodate a kid). We did not cook, so I don't know how the place is stocked for that, but it has plenty of dishes, utensils, etc. for eating take-out, which we did. Especially for the money, this is a really great find. One of my favorite vrbos. It has everything you need in a good location and with a great host.
