Summary: This rental is nice, yes. Near a good walking path. However, it is outdated, washer and dryer were wonky, house on a lean, the HVAC wouldnt regulate temp on all three floors and its a block away from Harrisburg's homeless village by PENDOT. HVAC was probably our biggest complaint. Outdated rentals are fine, but the 1st floor was cold, 2nd floor was warm but okay with windows open in dec, third too hot occupy. The stairs up to the 2nd and 3rd floor are quite steep, glad our only family with us was mobile enough to get up and down repeatedly. Wasn't a problem for us, though we took care when racing up and down. Most of the beds only had one pillow on them, including the king, in the photos the beds are made with several pillows. There were pillows in closets with no covers, so that was a bummer alternative. That said, the rental served its purpose as our homebase between bouncing through family's homes for the holiday. We were able to fit our car in the garage, but the garage is a manual pull and quite a tight fit. After reading other reviews I didn't want to end up with a ticket with purchase of a permit. We adjusted our trip a several weeks before staying and were able to adjust the dates. The property manager accommodated the changes. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cooking ware. The feeling I am left with is underwhelmed but not angry. The photos of this listing led me to believe this was a well kept rental and unfortunately in person was different.

Summary: We were in town for a wedding, so we added an extra day to explore Harrisburg. The house I chose is river front and at the end of a quiet street. The location could not have been any better, 2 miles from downtown, with a wonderful river view. We spent the day walking along the river and enjoying the nearby park, historical monuments and the local restaurants. The house is older but quaint. The first level has been updated and is very nice. The 2nd and 3rd levels could use some TLC. The beds are comfortable but there are no nightstands, extra blankets, or pillows and the towels don’t match and are also old and worn. A night light here and there would also be nice. The carpet is old and worn. The windows are dirty and there is an old screen laying on the roof. The kitchen is sparsely accommodated. There are no wine glasses and only 3 coffee mugs. I couldn’t find a bottle opener either. Finally, there is a major temperature difference between the 1st floor and the 2nd and 3rd. Very chilly downstairs and hot and stuffy upstairs. The house was not very clean. We were greeting with 4 bags of trash in the garage and there were wet towels and sheets in the dryer. There were also several dead flys on the carpet in our bedroom and empty plastic bottles in the backyard. Now I want to point out that all these things can be fixed. They were a minimal inconvenience and we enjoyed our stay very much! I would recommend this house as long as you can work around the imperfections

Summary: Four of stayed 6 days in this house. Know up front this is an old house with very steep stairs. Those with bad joints beware because all bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs. PROS 1. There is a nice view of the river and a walking trail. There are also a lot of random folks wandering around the neighborhood. 2. Overall the property was clean when we arrived and fairly well stocked. The kitchen and dining area were nice for making breakfast and then eating. There were no eating options anywhere close. We were unable to watch movies on the TV-maybe it was us or the system is not set up right. 3. Beds were fairly comfortable. Bathrooms are small with only showers. We used this house primarily as a base to travel in the area each day and then clean up and sleep at night. One-way streets in the area were tricky to navigate. CONS 1. Check-in was a mess. The door code provided was wrong and we had to call for help. The code that finally opened the front door did not work on the back door. It took 4 days to get a back door code that worked. Not good. 2. Several doors will not shut, we had bees in the bedrooms for 2 days, no smoke detectors in the bedrooms (unsafe), and 2 bedrooms had no chairs (inconvenient). Bath light switch inoperable and other bath outlet was covered up and unusable. 4. Garage is very small-we squeezed in a midsize SUV but were barely able to open a door on one side of the car. 5. Carpet needs deep cleaning. Overall 5/10. An old house that needs attention.

Summary: carpet aweful, located by homeless living on street, not made for elderly or kids stairs are steep. closet doors off against wall. owner ask you not to wear shoes but carpet was disgusting. doors to bedrooms do not close. light switch in second floor bath has a short in it hard to get light on and off. back door not coded for entry so we had to walk around to front to get in. no bath on first floor. dirt on flooring on first floor may want to sweep under tv and ottoman. furniture is old and worn.

Summary: Nicely located for sight seeing with great access to freeways. Old and needs some updating but overall a nice place and a pleasant stay. Better furniture on patio would be a significant plus. Steep stairs to all bathrooms and bedrooms could be an issue to be aware of for some.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay here and the hosts were great! We had 6 adults and a two year old that were very comfortable in the house. It was nice having a large kitchen with all the amenities to cook so we did not have to eat out every meal. The location had a beautiful view of the river and we felt safe walking on the trail. Would definitely book again if in that area!

Summary: We wanted a place to stay in Harrisburg, that would accommodate our family. The location was very convenient for our needs. Loved the views of the river, as well as the cute patio out back. It was unfortunate that all but 3 of the patio string lights were burned out.
