Positive: The property is right in the jungle and therefore offers a super calm and relaxed atmosphere. All staff members were incredibly nice and helpful.
Negative: Unfortunately the place is very hard to reach. You need to walk up about 150 stairs from one side or by bike / car a super hard way full of stones and mud up the hill which is not recommended for rookie drivers.

Positive: Amazing view and very relaxing place. The staff was also incredibly nice. Confortable room and very clean. Do not stop yourself because of the walk up the hill it is definitely worth it.

Positive: Amazing hosts & cute guests, best drinks on Koh Chang, amazing view, cute little bungalow, yummy breakfast- very jungle chic, short walk to beach

Positive: Beautiful location. Away from the chaos of the island. On the top of a hill so has fantastic views. The breakfast was great. They offered laundry service which was very helpful. And overall, the service was fantastic.
Negative: As it’s on the mountain, the property is a bit more susceptible to the reality of Thailand- so the water and lights didn’t always work. That said, Ben and Luke are very attentive to all points of service.

Positive: Drifter’s Anchor in Koh Chang is something special. Stayed here a week and it ended up being one of the best experiences I’ve had whilst travelling. Koh Chang itself is an incredible island, and Drifter’s makes you experience it properly. The resort is high up on the mountain. There’s a few steps to get up there however it’s more than worth it. The sunsets from up there are unreal: must be the best viewpoint on the island but not many people know of it. Drifters creates a proper community vibe. There are private bungalows and hostel rooms, which gives a good mix of people (but not overcrowded). Luke and Ben, the two brothers & owners from Canada, are genuinely cool guys and make everyone feel welcome from the moment you arrive. I honestly made friends for life while staying there. They built Drifter’s Anchor by hand, and you can really feel the care and effort that’s gone into it. They’re always eager to get people out together, which adds massively to the community feel. While I was there, we all went on days out all around the island, It wasn’t forced and wasn’t guaranteed. If you’d rather just chill, relax, and enjoy the views, this place is perfect for that too. The boys can arrange scooters or bikes to be delivered straight to the resort, and they’ll pinpoint all the best spots on your map so you can explore the island with spots rarely known to non locals. This isn’t just somewhere to sleep—it’s a place that stays with you. Incredible views, genuine people, and hosts who truly care about the experience you have. I genuinely can’t recommend Drifter’s Anchor enough and I’ll definitely be back.
