If you've ever dreamt of living the life of a carefree beachcomber, Driftwood is your kind of world away from it all. Up to 6 guests are comfortably accommodated with 3 A/C, ceiling-fanned, and screened windowed bedrooms, each with an ensuite bath.
A ten-minute drive from Calabash Bay, down a long, private drive through a field of blue-flowering lignum vitae trees and rose bougainvillea to "your" house with a stunning view of the sea.
For those who have seen it, Pedro's Bluff is as iconic a view as Diamond Head in Hawaii. The view of this natural landmark is spectacular -- through coconut palms over green lawns that stretch to the ocean's edge to Great Pedro Bluff beyond.
The central living room opens through folding shutters directly out to the sea-view veranda. Enjoy Jamaican, country-style meals prepared by your cook, MARIE, inside in a breakfast nook, outside on the verandah, or on a vine-covered arbor terrace.
Laze on the chaises. Then, stroll down the lawn thru the gate to the right about 100 yards a sandy beach cove with calm waters; your second beach access is the wide sandy beach of Great Bay Beach, the largest and calmest on the South Coast with the best swimming -- it's about a 7-10 minute stroll away along the shoreline towards the left of the property.

Summary: This was our first trip to Jamaica and we could not have been more surprised at the location of the villa, the cleanliness of the home with all the amenities, most of all, the wonderful staff at Driftfwood Villa (Mrs Marie, Mrs Simone, Mrs Stacey and Mr Ken Roy who made feel at home and like family. If privacy is what you are looking for then this is the place. My family had the honor of using the villa from Dec 19-30 and we enjoyed every day. We visited the nearby public beach which was just a 5-7 min walk everyday between 11am and 1pm daily. We only saw two couples on two separate days. Mostly, it was devoid of any people save my family and I. To say it was our private beach was an understatement. What I cannot express in words were the gentle touches of affection the staff had for my children ages 12, 17 and 20 years old. Ken Roy made it point to accompany my family each and every time we visited the beach. At first I was happy for his company for security and for giving us his personal information of the surrounding area. But in the end it was just comforting having him there looking out for our safety and for our comfort. Mrs Marie, Mrs Simone and Mrs Stacey made our stay a luxury of comfort. We would have breakfast at the veranda each morning and the whiff of smell of Jamaican coffee told us it was breakfast time. Mrs Marie and Mrs Simone are chef-extraordinaire whisking up meals both Western and Jamaican dishes. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Summary: My family and I loved our stay at Driftwood. The setting was amazing and so relaxing for our vacation. The pool was the perfect place to cool off, and the view couldn’t have been more beautiful. We spent most of our time lounging in the hammocks surrounded by blue waters. The staff was so helpful, nice and accommodating. Stacy and Marie couldn’t have been more helpful and sweet, and the cooking was delicious! We worked with them both to come up with the menus, and they listened to our every request. Ahead of our visit, communication with Nicole was seamless and easy. We cannot rave enough about the people at Driftwood. Theo was also wonderful, helping us after the ladies went home with whatever we needed. Driftwood was a dream, and we would love to return someday!
