Cape-style, two-bedroom, waterfront, vacation cottage in Eastham, Massachusetts, available for weekly rentals during peak summer season. Enjoy our private freshwater beach including the use of rowboats, dock, and swimming platform! Relax and enjoy the beautiful views of the 21-acre Minister Pond from the large, well-appointed living room.
Our cottage (named the 'Cast Off,' which means 'to let go') is located in a private location (Cottage #7) in the Nauset Haven community and positioned in close proximity to the Cape Cod National Seashore with all its great beaches. Also close are the many beaches of Cape Cod Bay, as well as restaurants and shopping in Eastham, Orleans, Chatham, Wellfleet, and other great Cape Cod towns!
Our cottage has all the conveniences of home (and then some) in a lovely Cape setting. Rinse off or clean up in our new outside shower while overlooking the pond.

Summary: We really enjoyed staying at this property. Nice to have access to the pond for kayaking and not having to worry about tides. Property was well appointed with all the amenities described. Just had a wonderful time.

Summary: We just returned home from a wonderful week at the Cape. Ed and Sara, your property is the perfect balance of cozy and rustic. My 9 year old loved the outdoor shower and both my boys loved the pond. Listening to the frogs on the pond at night was always the perfect way to wrap up our day. Hoping to stay here again in the future!

Summary: Our family of 4 had a great stay at this cottage! It was so bright inside with huge windows looking over the pond. We fished, swam, and paddle boarded (brought our own) on the pond. The location was close to salt pond visitor center and the national seashore which we also loved. We appreciated the sturdy bunk beds for our 6 and 9 year old, (have stayed in place before with bunks and no guard rails). Recommend it!

Summary: We we really enjoyed our stay. Close to everything mid cape. Easy access to the National seashore and bay beaches. Enjoyed being on the pond, rented kayaks and had them delivered to enjoy paddling on the pond. Enjoyed cooking at the home with the charcoal grill. Perfect cottage for our 1st cape cod vacation.

Summary: We had a lovely time here in Eastham. Peaceful, relaxing with easy access to the beaches and walking trails. The cottage is set up perfectly and the hammock was fantastic!

Summary: Very clean and comfortable....everything we needed was at the cabin. Took a nice rowboat ride around the lovely lake....great restaurants (Lobster Pot) in PTown was favorite. Great sunsets nearby. Would like to come again in the warmer weather so we can swim. Thanks very much.

Summary: Have stayed at Nauset Haven each of the past three Septembers. Have stayed at Cast Off the last two years and love it. Great location on The Cape and great location for Cast Off within the compound. Ed and Sara are very accommodating hosts.

Summary: this was exactly what we needed! RIGHT OFF route 6, yet tucked away in a rustic pond side setting. While we were at the house we enjoyed delightful pond views from every window, quiet places to sit outside, comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen and a well functioning air conditioner. We loved walking down the short path to the pond and taking out a rowboat, not as eager to swim in the pond. While we were out, we enjoyed the close proximity to the national seashore beaches and the bike trails. Pandemic-wise, we brought our own bedding and towels and found the place clean. We enjoyed a lot of take out and also noticed that people wore masks and kept their distance at the beach and in other lines. It’s a weird time to try to get away but it really worked out perfectly! Thank you!!

Summary: The cottage is very charming and nicely decorated. We loved sitting in the area behind the house. It was very comfortable and shaded well with trees. Also loved all the bird activity. While Arnold’s and the bike trail were not far, we didn’t like having to cross route 6 to get to sidewalk and walking our bikes along route felt dangerous with kids. This would be the only negative.

Summary: My wife and I had a wonderful, relaxing two weeks at the Cast Off cottage. It’s very comfortable, fully equipped and has a beautiful view of Minister’s Pond. It’s also in an excellent location, close to National Seashore and bay beaches, historic lighthouses, fishing (in the pond and ocean), the Cape Cod Rail Trail and a variety of great places to eat. The new fireplace provided a lot of atmosphere as well as warmth on chilly October nights. We’ll be back!
