Summary: Wow, what a lovely hotel! The location couldn’t be beat - we walked everywhere with the gorgeous lake in front, the gardens to the left, surrounded by shops and restaurants. The free valet parking was easy to use, but we really didn’t need a car. The hotel itself is historic but comfortably luxurious with high ceilings and oozing character. We enjoyed the lovely parlor, which is a living room open to the small cadre of guests staying at any particular time (there are only 5 rooms in the main building). We met some other families during the evening drinks and canapés, which were Included in our stay, and I used the space for some work video conferences during the morning hours, when I did not want to disturb my family sleeping in our room. Overall, Eichardt’s was warm and comfortable. Service was outstanding and we didn’t want to leave. The main picture on the hotels.com Website shows a hot tub, which is belongs to the penthouse room and isn’t open to anyone else. A bit misleading since you don’t need your swimsuit, but everything else here was phenomenal. We will be back!

Summary: We stayed the night here to break up our camper van experience around the South Island. It was such a fantastic night stay, we booked another night! Beautiful hotel, excellent friendly service. Wonderful views! Would seek this hotel out again without a doubt.

Summary: Eichardt's was delightful. The team were fabulous; they were welcoming and easy to deal with. It could only have been better if they managed to work out how to make it snow on request!! We look forward to visiting again soon.
