Positive: Complimentary shuttle from the ferry port to the resort. Can't remember the drivers name, but he was excellent. The location was perfect. The 50 metre pool was spectacular. The resort was well designed. Lovely terraced balcony from the room. Tennis Court. The beach was right in front of the resort. Staff member at breakfast: Andreas

Negative: I spoke to reception about the fact that our room didn't look like the room I booked and could they find another room, I was told that nothing was available and the sales team would get back to me. NOBODY GOT BACK TO ME!!! The bathroom was every small and very awkward to move around in. You had to climb up stairs and then step down into a deep bathtub to have your shower. You wouldn't want to slip! The room was very noisy because there was a utility room under ours and what sounded like a very loud washing machine that would turn on and off 24/7. My husband spoke to Reception. They said they would get back to us. NOBODY GOT BACK TO US!!! Every time we called reception to ask for something, they got it wrong!!! Awful selection of pillows, either far too soft, or so lumpy that you ended up with a neck ache!!! A 5-star resort should provide memory foam pillows!!! The tennis balls were flat and the tennis racquets cracked. If your'e going to have a tennis court, make sure that the equipment is maintained and of a good standard. Breakfast was OK, but for a 5 star hotel, the quality and selection should be a lot better and more varied. Very expensive restaurant and the menu was most unappealing. We were in Greece after all, not Zurich! We didn't come to Greece to eat lobster. We had dinner at the local taverna's along the beach and it was great! No fly screens on any of the windows or french door. No privacy in Room 401, if you wanted to leave the windows open. Wi-fi was unreliable. You need a car as private transfers are very expensive. The floor and wall tile grout of the 50 metre pool were filthy. Black and green gunk all over it. Not a very good look for a 5-star hotel. The staff were either not well trained or simply not interested in their jobs. They were also neither genuine, nor warm. Andreas was the only waiter who was genuine, had the right attitude and excellent customer service skills.

Positive: The hotel is absolutely beautiful aesthetically. Out room was spacious with separate lounge area and outdoor balcony was a generous size. The beach facilities were comfortable and there was always enough availability. Towels were provided and the service was great. All the staff in the breakfast restaurant as well as the pool bar were warm, friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help. The service was five star. Car park on site was easily accessible. Loved the entire experience here. Would highly recommend it. The property is actually in the beach and back access is easy.

Negative: Location is isolated but all the other benefits made up for it.

Summary: A beautiful 5 star hotel with friendly, attentive staff.

Positive: Stunning location, beautiful views, quiet, comfortable…Elies Resort was more than we ever could have dreamed about. The staff were kind, attentive, and professional. The breakfast was delicious. The only complaint we had was that we didn’t have an extra night there! We will be returning without a doubt!

Summary: Elies resorts exceeded our expectations. An absolutely fantastic experience!

Positive: Beautiful quiet location and scenery - sea and mountains. Most of the small town is not even accessible by road and you have to walk along the beach which is very relaxing. Huge pool with enough sunbeds for all guests at all times! Nice rooms and very clean - cleaning every day was very thorough. Breakfast was good - the eggs and a la carte options were great as was the freshly made coffee. Some of the pies and croissants were clearly frozen / not freshly made, which did somewhat mar the otherwise high standard. The freshly cut fruit salad had also finished each day before we got to breakfast and not replenished. Otherwise, very nice indeed.

Negative: For such an expensive hotel, although the staff were extremely friendly and polite, there was no semblance of service around the pool or at the beach. It was extremely sporadic - we had to go up to the bar most times and order water / drinks ourselves.

Summary: Very nice hotel, lovely quiet location where you can really relax, but overpriced.
