Whitleyville Cabin | Emerald Eyes Cliffside Tiny House on 30 acres with River & Countryside Vistas

1 Bedroom Cabin in Whitleyville

Emerald Eyes at Futurology Farms is for the passionate person who wants to connect with nature, the adventurer who loves to explore the beauty of the land, couples who wish to reconnect, and those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Just 2 years young, the 30-acre farm is in its early stages of development, it is a serene and magical place perched atop a mountain on a cliffside overlooking the Cumberland River in Tennessee.
The farm provides an ever-changing view- including glorious hillside meadows, mysterious dense forests, and mystical thick fogs. It’s not uncommon to see deep rich fog engulf the valley or glistening mountain tops sparkle in the sunlight. The firepit is for your use and firewood for several fires will be provided along with our signature fire starters to ensure a great start and fire every time!
The list of things to do while visiting the farm is long. Ranging from water sports to nature activities, state park hopping to exploring music city. Whether you want to visit Nashville, shop antiques, ride a boat, go trail riding, stargaze, explore museums, dine out, visit parks or historical sites, Emerald Eyes is situated perfectly to appease anyone’s passion. Nature has much to offer during your stay whether hiking and traversing the grounds or exploring the beauty of the river with water activities and fishing. You’ll find a wide selection of state parks with hiking and waterfalls to investigate.
The property is on a mountain and has areas that are nearly 1000 feet in elevation with rugged terrain and steep drop-offs. For this reason, we do not feel the property is suited for infants and children. Additionally, nature is active at the farm with snakes, turkeys, raccoons, bobcats, bears, coyotes, and other local wildlife. This is a natural environment that comes with things like ticks, mosquitoes, spiders, and stink bugs. We take every precaution possible and provide bug spray for the outdoors but you should be aware and dress appropriately.
This property has steep but passable roadways. Most vehicles can navigate fine. A small 4-cylinder vehicle may struggle in wet weather or snow and ice conditions. Generally, they are fine.
Despite being a lesser-known travel destination, the Farm is nestled in Jackson County, Tennessee which offers some of the most beautiful countrysides in the region. The property straddles Gainesboro and Whitleyville, Tennessee. Gainesboro is the county seat which is rich in history. This town also was the setting for the 1970 “I Walk The Line” movie starring Gregory Peck featuring the famous Johnny Cash song.
Enjoy any or all of the following activities at the farm or close by hiking, fishing, boating, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing, bird watching, state parks, museums, antiquing, events, art, golf, sight seeing, UTV trail riding, or horseback riding. If you have a camper, boat, or water sports equipment, please notify us so accommodations may be made for parking.
Our aim at the farm is to provide a safe nurturing sustainable lifestyle model. We do not have Wi-Fi at Emerald Eyes Tiny House. The house manual will detail and outline everything you need to enjoy the mountain and your stay. The unit has a 2-burner electric cooktop, a kettle, a coffee maker, a microwave, and a toaster. A fire extinguisher is also on the premise and a hard-wired battery backup smoke detector.
We provide some light grab-and-go snacks, quick breakfast items, and basic easy-to-prepare meal items so you don't need to rush off to the store. Things like pasta and sauce, farm fresh in-season fruit, veggies and eggs, pancake mix, oatmeal, PB&J, popcorn, granola bars, and chips. Options vary by season.

Summary: We were very pleased with the accommodations at Emerald Eyes! It was beautiful and all amenities were considered. I will be as detailed as I can. The initial communication with Tammy was seamless. She made recommendations in the nearby area for activities and food. This came with tips and tricks that only a local could provide (which parks needed permits, and all the other good local know-hows). Her response times had no delay from booking to checkout. The location was very easy to find, especially with their detailed directions, (if you think you missed it, just keep driving - follow the instructions), and we were met at the front gate by Ed, Tammy, and their cute pup who loves rocks. Also to note, during our weekend stay, we did not hear any barking or anything else associated with pets (even the dog has a chill vibe). The location was amazing! It is located within distance of Ed and Tammy's personal tiny home (but not close at all - sometimes we forgot they were even there). It sits on 30 acres of bliss. There is a great lookout point of the river and boasts several trails. There is a nicely crafted firepit outside the tiny home. There are logs and a Firestarter available so setting up your own fire is as simple as can be. The tiny home is well thought out with every convenience considered. It is updated and very clean. The view is amazing. There provide a small assortment of snacks (to include smores), some water, condiments, etc. There are hand written notes throughout the home; giving tips and directions for using the home. There is an ac unit that ensures the home doesn't stay too hot. There is a modern cooking stovetop available, and a grill outside. The bed and linens were clean. There are towels and several toiletry items provided as well. There is a full-sized refrigerator for groceries. There are pots, pans, and paper towels available as well. Long story short, they have went above and beyond to ensure a relaxing stay that covers all the basis necessities. We did not experience any bugs, or wildlife during our stay. The hosts were easily reached by text and made every effort to ensure our stay was perfect. There is no wifi or television, which was exactly what we wanted. It is truly a location created for maximum relaxation! They recommended the Roaring River Post for kayaking (check them out). We are grateful that we had the opportunity to be guests, and are planning to book our next stay soon! -Keren & Lerone

Summary: This place was awesome! Very peaceful. Seemed magical. Very good area right on the Cumberland River. Several parks close by. Beautiful scenery and views. Not really a place for children but for a couple that wants to get away its amazing. The split firewood that is there for you and the homemade firestarters are perfect along with the art in the tiny house! We would love to go back!
