This property borders Gooseberry State Park, the most popular state park in Minnesota, with access to the Nordic skiing and mountain biking trail system right out the back door. Guest can also jump onto the Gitchi Gami State trail for those who want to bike or rollerblade on a smooth paved trail with access just across the road.
With the close proximity to Gooseberry Falls and Splitrock Lighthouse, as well as Two Harbors, Duluth and Lutsen, there are year round opportunities to venture out to go hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sightseeing, swimming and much more!
Great for groups both large and small, there are 4 - two-bedroom, one bath apartment style suites on the property that can be reserved individually or together. Summary: My spouse and our 5-month-old enjoyed a long weekend here. The location is great for access to Gooseberry Falls and other popular North Shore spots (Superior Hiking Trail, Grand Marais, Two Harbors, Betty’s Pies, etc.). The space was comfortable and clean. My only concerns were that the traffic from Hwy 61 is very loud when you are outside and the tap water was a murky faint brown (likely from the well water).

Summary: This was the perfect location for my daughters and me to base from and head out on hikes in all directions. Clean, well stocked, comfortable beds, nice shower. Everything we needed. The only drawback is we had a lower unit and the noise from the upper unit woke us up very early.

Summary: The location and space were small (for 6 people) but meet our needs just fine. I was disappointed in the cleanliness/tidiness of the place. There were cobwebs in the corners and hanging from the ceiling. Also, the most bothersome was the amount of dog hair left over from the past renters. Cleaning the floors and furniture appropriately could easily fix this problem but it was passed over.
