If you're looking for a very special summer rental, our charming and cozy 135+ year-old beach house may be just what you’re hoping to find. Located on a beach block in Ocean Beach, it suffered absolutely no damage whatsoever from Hurricane Sandy. A/C in two of the three bedrooms plus the dining room and kitchen. Open stud construction with cathedral ceilings, exposed rafters, and a huge wood-burning fireplace - said to be the largest on the island. Gleaming original wood floors with sand-catching sea grass carpeting in the living and dining rooms. Sleeps 7 but 5 more comfortably. 2024 WEEKLY RATES:
Weeklies run from Mondays at 12 Noon to Sundays at 5:00 pm.

* We also require a 20% security deposit, $160 for professional cleaning, $125 for the rental permit, a flat fee of $60/wk for utilities (gas, propane for BBQ, electric, FIOS wireless internet, and DirectTV), and the 5.5% Suffolk County Hotel tax.

Front Porch:
Screened porch is shaded by tall pines and blueberry bushes. Round table seats 4. Two comfy armchairs for relaxing.
Living Room:
Lovingly furnished with nautical artifacts, framed vintage maritime prints, original oil paintings. Plenty of seating. Antique sideboard and writing desk are stocked with table linens, sewing baskets, stationery supplies, and more.
Dining Room:
Has A/C. Couch converts into two twin beds; 18 ft. window seat, antique oak table (extends to seat 10 comfortably), large TV/DVD/DirectTV; FIOS WiFi. Beautifully decorated with maritime art and bric a brac. Closes off from living room with two sets of curtains - one sheer, one opaque.
Master Bedroom:
Has A/C, antique iron double bed, two dressers (one mirrored). Note: Ample bed and bath linens provided throughout, including charming vintage coverlets, throws, and quilts.
Second Bedroom:
Has A/C, two pine bunk beds with under-bed storage drawers. Decor features vintage bird prints. Perfect for kids. (Note: By saying "two ...bunk beds," we mean ONE 2-level structure equipped with TWO full-sized twin mattress.)
Third Bedroom:
Has antique iron twin day bed, mirrored dresser, whimsical mermaid-motif decor, shared A/C. Although small, it has quick access to the indoor shower, kitchen, and deck - ideal for a Mother's Helper.
Kitchen:
Has A/C. Fully-stocked track lit kitchen with gas stove, microwave, large fridg, double sink, butcher block counter, washer/dryer. Ample dishes, glasses, flatware, pots & pans, bakeware, utensils, kitchen linens, toaster, blender, food chopper, coffee grinder, espresso machine, coffee maker, Brita water pitcher, popsicle maker, and more. We even leave our spices and staples for tenants plus paper goods, cleaning/laundry supplies, and other basic household necessities.
Bathroom:
One divided bathroom. WC closes off from indoor shower.
Decks:
Back deck has outdoor shower, gas BBQ, teak picnic table, w/ large market umbrella, 4 metal dining chairs, lounge chairs, and clothes line. Side deck has storage for wagons, 4 adult coaster bikes, ample beach chairs, and umbrellas.
Other Amenities:
In addition to those noted above, the cottage has many other amenities such as ceiling fans throughout, a vacuum cleaner, space heaters, portable fans, an ironing board and iron, bedside cube clocks, books, games, puzzles, playing cards, CDs, a CD player, rain slickers, flashlights, and more. We also have a big milk crate wagon for getting your belongings from the ferry to the house.
