3 Bedroom Cottage in Sunset Cove, Lake Lure

***Due to the lake restoration work after Hurricane Helene, we are not able to provide access to the boathouse including kayaks, floats, etc. The lake is not available for swimming or boating at this time. We hope that our beautiful lake will recover as soon as possible. Please follow the town website for updates https://www.townoflakelure.com *** The best of treehouse and lakefront living! Charming Cottage located on beautiful Lake Lure surrounded by trees in a relaxed and peaceful setting. The home is located conveniently near a local supermarket, restaurants, and Chimney Rock State Park. This cozy abode has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Knotty pine-wood walls and ceilings, hardwood floors, and 2 gas fireplaces grace this getaway.
Upon entering, you will find 2 bedrooms: one has a queen-sized bed, the other has a set of log style bunk beds. The bathroom has a tub and shower. The large kitchen has plenty of counter space and is filled with all the amenities, including a Keurig coffee maker. It is open to the living room which features a gas fireplace, and the dining room has a rustic style wood table that can seat up to 8 people. A flat screened television hangs above the mantel and can be viewed from the kitchen, dining room, and living room. Off of the kitchen is an outdoor deck with a gas grill and beautiful views. The lower-level bedroom suite sports a private bath, gas fireplace, TV and sofa.
Beyond the lower suite is a screened porch and a deck with a variety of seating. Walk down the stairs to our large firepit patio (supply your own firewood - buy locally at Ingles Supermarket and elsewhere).
Continue down the stairs to the dock.
**Anyone with mobility or endurance issues should be aware that there are 100 steps down to the dock.
Whether you are looking for romance, an escape from your everyday life, or a relaxing family getaway, our charming cottage is the answer.
There is ample parking and no steps to the front entrance.

Summary: The lake house is an amazing, beautiful spot. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The downstairs bed was very comfortable! The boathouse came with a lot of toys to really maximize this lakefront stay. We stayed in this property the weekend before the hurricane hit. I’m not sure how the hurricane affected the property, but it would be an injustice not to leave a glowing review because we had an amazing stay here!

Summary: Great house, amazing location. We had everything we needed and more! The kids and dogs spent the entire time in the lake…. Which was nestled on a quiet, safe cove. Lots of water toys provided in the boat house. Owners were super responsive and friendly. Definitely 5 stars

Summary: We completely enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. We took full advantage of the kayak & paddle board that come with the rental. We enjoyed sunset paddles, just floating near the dock & even a moonlight paddle one night. Although you don’t get dramatic Mountain View’s right at the house, you do get tree top views that make you feel like you are in a treehouse & relaxing lake views as well. All you have to do is paddle around the bend & wow!!! The Mountain View’s take your breath away! We would absolutely stay here again & recommend to friends as well. Our only stumble was a little trouble getting the key pad on the door to work properly at first. We got in touch with the host & they unlocked it remotely. Once they did so, the keypad functioned properly the rest of our stay. The house was comfortable & clean. The downstairs master suite was our favorite! There are multiple decks to enjoy as well. We really enjoyed grilling out & having a fire in the fire pit at night. We roasted lots of marshmallows! The local grocery store is really close which is super convenient. Overall we loved this place & really enjoyed our vacation! I highly recommend!

Summary: This is a cozy, rustic, & vintage Lake Lure house. It’s a good, pet-friendly deal for the price & Sherry was very responsive to all of our questions. Be prepared for the steps to the dock (there are lots of them), but this is typical for Lake Lure. We appreciated the quietness of being close to the dam & off the main channel. The convenience to the local Ingle’s grocery store was a big plus for us, as well.

Summary: Responsive host, clean and well appointed house. There was unexpected (for us) construction in the cove which took away from the relaxing ambiance. We would recommend the property to anyone.
